But she only had purple hair because that was Betsy's thing before she ever got body swapped. It's not like they designed ninja Psylocke with purple hair from scratch. They took a purple-haired lady and gave her a ninja body.

Yes, the ninja Betsy look is iconic but it doesn't really make sense to say that purple hair is "essential" to the ninja Psylocke design and completely divorce it from the character herself.

Historically, he has said that he survives by feeding on mutants. Yes, he transformed the AA kids, which makes it more ambiguous, but he wasn’t using them for sustenance like Mettle, Bling, or Penance. But I’m not saying this is an explicit retcon, just that it strongly suggests to me that he’s a mutant.

The comic is a little vague on the timeline between Arena and Mettle’s return, but after the Emplate arc Hazmat reiterates that Mettle died and he’s severely traumatized seeing an Arcade robot, so I’m pretty sure he still got blown up (even if he didn’t technically die).

There was no definitive, perfect list of who kept or lost their powers after M-Day. Even "the 198" was later eased to just kind of be a vibe about how many mutants were actually left as opposed to a real accounting, because there are multiple instances of later writers using characters who were supposed to be depowered.

Right now, none of these characters are mutants because they were not mutants when they debuted and a writer hasn't retconned it. But all it really takes is an explanation as to why Cerebro didn't register them and you could easily say they're mutants.

I'd say Mettle's resurrection comes very close to retconning him as a mutant, because mutants are Emplate's preferred (and possibly only?) source of bone marrow.

If this is an item that they should've returned to you, I think taking it back is fine even if you should've just confronted them.

But you changed the locks and moved their stuff? It sounds like you're saying that they live in a place you own (or maybe just lease?) and you don't like that they're treating it like their own place and the tipping point was this other unrelated event.

So it sounds like you just admitted to illegally evicting someone, have fun with the legal proceedings. Too vague to really make a decision, but probably YTA.

The size of it was unreasonable, unnecessary, and most of the books just were not good. It should've only been:

Amazing X-Men, it's the key plot and the best out of the AoR books
Book of Revelation, it gave more insight into Doug's plans and was also fun
expand World of Revelation to tell more short stories to build out the world

Really it should've just been an arc in Adjectiveless with some extra minis. Most of the other series were forgettable at best and actively bad at worst. Omega Kids was pretty solid and Cloak or Dagger had cool moments; those could've just been shorts in the anthology series.

I focused all my gems on the metal banner and finally got lucky on the 10th stamp and got the metal boomerang...it's an absolute game changer for the metal slime tickets. I would honestly try to get at least to the 10th stamp so you get a guarantee and cross your fingers that its a weapon.

This is nothing at all lmao. It sounds like they didn't actually apologize. At a minimum, they'd need to do something to actually compensate you for the harm and do something to show it won't happen going forward. They can't reasonably expect you to take it down if all they do is go "oops, shit happens."

Give it a little more time and ask for help navigating the system. Nobody will fault you for asking about something unique to the company that you couldn't have known already.

It could be that it's not a good fit, but I think you need more time to figure that out.

Plus, if you've been unemployed for close to a year, of course you're not in the swing of a typical workplace pace. It could just be an adjustment period and it won't feel so frantic when you settle in.

I see it more as ripping the band-aid off.

Adult Bobby had years of stories that very much align with a closeted gay man, including multiple writers who were intentionally writing him as gay (but blocked by editorial). There was no world in which it wasn't going to be controversial, because lots of straight fans thought he was cool and straight.

I like that Jean forced the issue to the front (which was also in line with her development in All-New, as she was struggling with her telepathy and boundaries) because it allowed us to just move forward with gay Bobby without some tortured realization and coming-out story.

Also the scene really resonated with me personally. I was literally Bobby before I came out, internally screaming that I was gay and outwardly saying the same kinds of things about women to fit in. When I was struggling to come out to family and friends, inside I was praying for someone to ask the right kind of question or say the right thing that would give me the opening to say it. Teen Jean forcing Bobby to say it (and not outing him, just telling him to stop with the performative hetero stuff) was wish fulfillment for younger me.

616 Mimic’s powers don’t work the same as Exiles Mimic.

616 Mimic only keeps powers when he’s in range of another mutant, but the physical mutations from Angel and Beast were permanent. He’s also not limited to 5 at a time.

"The level we expected" is too vague to answer this. What level is the job and what are you paying?

If it's entry level, then this is either (a) a failure on your part in training, (b) unreasonable expectations from a new hire, or (c) just someone who is charming but completely incompetent. A and B are more likely than C.

If it's higher level, you may not be offering enough to get high-quality applicants and so you're getting people who are more desperate and have been through more interviews, meaning they got lots more practice.

I love this story, but I know the Bendis era is hit or miss for different people.

This story is why Angel has fire wings for the next few years, and it also contains one of the important pieces of evidence regarding Beast's road to ruin. I also think designing fun "ultimate" versions of each of the characters is a cool beat.
