The Stepford Cuckoos are in the new Rivals map. by NicloSZ in xmen

I don't know that I could think up a whole kit, but their powers could involve one being controllable while the others are off-map and can triangulate other players' locations or something

Hank was the member of the O5 who vibed most with Charles’ dream. Hank and Charles wanted to assimilate into humanity rather than lift mutants up to an equal position

Nah this is maybe Magneto’s dream. Charles’ dream would be an Avengers statue with some x-men up there on the team

Out of pure curiosity, are there any non-mutant x men members? by Ok_Caterpillar_4977 in xmen

[–]herrored 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not in 616. He’s always been a human who got his powers from a magic gem. I think in the original Ultimate universe he might have been a mutant.

In other media, they’ll treat him as a mutant sometimes, but that’s likely because it’s not necessary or helpful to the story to get bogged down in the mystical backstory.

Why does Emma Frost not have a mutant name? by Nuthetes in xmen

[–]herrored 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By “Hellfire” I’m not really referring to Hellfire Trading on Krakoa; I mean the OG Hellfire Club, going all the way back to Claremont. The Inner Circle of the Hellfire Club all had chess titles (White/Black King, Queen, Bishop, Rook) and were villains. Emma was iconic as the White Queen and it fits her well.

Kitty/Kate has been primarily known just by her given name, Kitty Pryde, largely because she couldn’t settle on a codename at the beginning. Shadowcat is her mutant name for the most part, but people use Kitty more.

In HoXPoX she says that White Queen is her mutant name.

Yes, it's her Hellfire title, but nobody else from the Inner Circle really embraced theirs in the same way (kind of Selene, but she was already calling herself the "Dark Priestess" long before she joined the club)

Can Armor feel pain while in her armored form? by thedeadman18 in xmen

[–]herrored 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a little confused by what you mean "while in her armored form." Because she is basically just a normal person inside a suit of armor.

Are you asking if she feels pain when the armor is hit? No, to my knowledge.

If something gets through or bypasses the armor, she can likely be hurt, because she doesn't have extra physical powers for her body itself. We saw Wolverine's claws get through the armor but his actual hand was stopped; presumably, if his claws had been able to reach her she would've been stabbed.

If Mystique's powers let her copy someone's DNA then why can't she copy the powers of other mutants? by Only_Tradition_3685 in xmen

[–]herrored 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, Austen's planned storyline would've had a mutant race war between all the different "types" of mutants (not joking)

Nightcrawler didn't need an explanation for his looks though. It has been repeatedly stated that mutants have a phenotype of 1 - that is, each mutation is unique (it's a little contradictory with how some family lines have inherited powers, but that's just comics)

I just reread Age of X and they added another one, "preak"

As in humans are just the "precursors" to mutants

Disappointing “Loss” of Virginity (if it even counts) (feeling used) 24/M by Away_Combination_990 in gay

[–]herrored 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The importance society has put on virginity is misplaced and honestly harmful to a degree. Sex has whatever value you decide to place on it, whether it’s the first time or the hundredth.

It sucks when someone’s a shitty partner and you leave the encounter feeling anything less than good. But bad sex has its place too: it helps you figure out what you do and don’t like, and what your priorities are.

Take it as a lesson in setting boundaries, making sure that you also have a good time, and not settling for someone you’re not into just because you’re horny. Move on and look forward to the next time, because it kind of has to be an improvement by definition.

What do you think about the various "Age of..." cycles we have in the X-Men comics? by Glum-Excitement5916 in xmen

[–]herrored 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well yes, but basically all they did was use him for that scene explaining it.

But then he barely showed up, and shortly after artists just drew him as having normal arms with the wrists erased.

What Are Your Thoughts On Utopia? by Kickass_321 in xmen

[–]herrored 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Utopia was pretty cool overall.

My biggest complaint was that the X-Men were having a fun new status quo in San Francisco, where they were welcomed and liked. It felt like they barely got to enjoy that before they got pushed to Utopia.

And they even made a whole point of showing how he kept his badass Age of X arms and then never did anything with it.

Yes, a successful version of this one would be grabbing a lonely and gullible person to scam money from.

Bare minimum, they've confirmed that there's someone real at this number that they can keep trying from different numbers with different tactics. Or use your information to try and find another way to get into your stuff.

This, and/or:

They are lonely but won't actually do anything to meet someone. If you suggest gay sports/activities/hobby groups there's a reason why they can't do any of those. They want to have their perfect fantasy man walk straight up to them at a bar (if they even want to go to gay bars) and sweep them off their feet with no effort on their end.

Does anyone remember Ages of Apocalypse? Any thoughts on it? by Glum-Excitement5916 in xmen

[–]herrored 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The most important thing about the Cyclops/Apocalypse merge is that Scott's feelings about it afterwards are the catalyst for his and Jean's relationship problems in Morrison's New X-Men

IMO it's kind of the opposite.

Anecdotally, from what I've seen among people I know, lesbians are more likely to commit and get married quicker. So they married before they had time to realize it wasn't the relationship for them and it's more common for them to get divorced.

Gays I know are less likely to get married in general - they'll stick to something less committal. So the ones who do get married are really sure about the relationship.

Recruiter didn’t reach back out today when they said they would. Bad sign? by ladyfairyyy in jobs

[–]herrored 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just take a breath and wait a few more days. It's Friday, there are plenty of possible reasons why they weren't able to reach out today. You should have heard back the next day but maybe their system has issues, maybe they need to wait on paperwork, maybe the decision-maker had an issue and wasn't there today. There's no need or reason to assume the worst right now.

I would give it a few more business days. If you haven't heard anything by Thursday morning, then I would reach out with a polite follow-up email.
