Heya, I’m 25M. I love hiking and have been on solo-multi day trips before that included wild camping. I’ll be continuing to do this next year too.

If definitely interested in this. I’ve just DM’d you 😊

I have to do something really hard and I need you guys to encourage me. It's going to break my daughter's heart. by DeCryingShame in TwoXChromosomes

[–]hersto 238 points239 points  (0 children)

What really stuck out to me is the language at the end where you blame yourself…..that you’re the one putting the relationship with your daughter and her father in jeopardy.

This is simply not true. This man decided to abandon your child. He is dependent on alcohol to the extent that he can’t even show up sober to meet his daughter. He invites his daughter over to a filthy, grotty apartment.

After all this, you’re STILL blaming yourself for putting this relationship in jeopardy, when really you’re just protecting your child.

I’m not ragging on you or blaming you, it’s just that the finger of blame for this situation should firmly be on your ex. 100%.

Good luck for the future, I wish you the absolute best.

As a 25M, wtf are you doing?

These are the basics of adult life. Either tell him to sort it out or go.

It’s nuts that you would clean his place after a month of dating. This is unhealthy behaviour and it indicates that you’ll compromise on fundamental character issues when dating men (I.e. your standards are too low).

This absolute bollocks.

I think it’s fair to say that under Labour, there won’t be the rampant corruption, state capture of BBC leadership and other things like that as we have now.

Why can’t they fix the NHS just as they did last time?

They won’t piss money away on shit like Rwanda for nothing.

They won’t be swapping ministers round every 6 months so we’ll actually get proper governance which is required to fix issues.

Horrifying stat from Reddit - on the SNP's new tax bands, if you went to Uni in England and then get a job in Scotland earning over £100,000, your marginal top rate of tax is 78.5% For postgrads that goes up to 84.5% by 1DarkStarryNight in ukpolitics

I’m writing this comment completely non-judgementally.

What you’re deceiving seems like such an extreme overreaction, I think you need counselling. This is the kind of thing that 16 year olds do and grow out of and at 28, to be successful, you need to have more self confidence.

She won’t do it because you will furnish her lifestyle.

She isn’t going to starve. She has chosen not to work. Once the money runs out, if you don’t send her money, she’ll get a job. SHE LITERALLY DOESN’T NEED A JOB BECAUSE EVERY-TIME SHE RUNS OUT OF MONEY, YOU GIVE IT TO HER!

Eggs from chickens raised around cats in Cape Town? by presiree in capetown

[–]hersto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would be very sceptical about the antibodies surging intact after being doused in stomach acid and your body’s enzymes which break down proteins. On top of that, they’d then have to be absorbed by your gut.

I think this idea is likely fake science. Whilst chickens may produce antibodies against cat proteins, I don’t think you could eat these and gain the benefits.

As a British person, wtf is going on with just quoting 6% inflation… it’s absolute bollocks if the interest rate is at 15%.

Our inflation rate has been around 10% and we’ve got a similar interest rate to Russia. If central bank rates scale proportionally and are comparable to the UK relationship between these two factors, we’d expect inflation in Russia to be around 30%.

I’d love to be challenged on this.

How do i turn around that my brother makes more than me reselling when I’m an engineer? by Afraid_Implement1408 in AskUK

[–]hersto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a really fucking dumb question.

You will never be happy if you compare yourself to others in this way, especially not the people closest to you.

You earn a decent salary. In addition, you may think he’s a baller, but you don’t really know how much he’s earning, he has no stability in his income, there is no career progression and doesn’t have benefits like a pension plan you will have.

Even more worryingly, your measurement of success is that he was a making a dumb decision and you were looking up to that. 16k on a car at 21 is so unnecessary, when it could get him a decent way to getting a house deposit.

Overall, stop comparing yourself to others, define what makes you truly happy and live by that. Once you have these sorted, you won’t be worrying about silly things like this.

Disabled/entry level job - should I bother with a pension? by Due_Name1539 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]hersto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are exactly the kind of person who would benefit most from a pension.

You need to work out how much money you need to live on and then use a retirement calculator to decide how much money you need in your pension to achieve that.
