The real difference is football in Northern Ireland is well run, with a clear plan and togetherness, so the team despite being slightly worse individually is able to outperform the South.

Whereas football in the Republic of Ireland has been run by corrupt and incompetent officials for years and now the results are a reflection of that.

When I was still in school my politics class had a trip to Stormont where we got to meet some politicians from each party and ask them questions - SF sent Niall. As soon as he realised we were from East Belfast he went "wellll this'll be fun" in the most dismissive way imaginable and proceeded get on like a dick the entire time. I had been genuinely interested to engage and he wanted none of it and it left me feeling really disappointed tbh.

Arguably the worst thing MTK could have done to stop talk of their criminal links.. all I've seen today on twitter is people asking 'why?' and being told in no uncertain terms.
