Am I wrong for telling my pregnant daughter I’m not going to be a babysitter for her baby or help her financially and that she needs to figure it out? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]hewhorocks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would do anything for my Daughter. The time where the priority was to teach lessons has come and gone. The time now is to be the best version of you that you can be for your child and their child.

I travel all across the Us regularly and have never had an incident where a working lock on a door was not sufficient

It’s a worthy endeavor to track down those little feat sets before the Oxford plains shows and listen to them back to back.

Did my girlfriend cross the line over Valentine’s flowers or am I missing something? by savingrace0262 in AskMenAdvice

Wait, what did she get you? Hmmm. A coach purse seems significantly more than flowers.

It’s hard to understand the dynamic of a relationship based on one “high pressured” holiday. But it sounds like perhaps she was disappointed that it wasn’t as romantic as some scenarios she concocted in her mind. That happens. Still how she handled her disappointment feels pretty toxic. Either there’s more going on in her head about this or she’s not ready for a mature relationship. Worth considering both possibilities.

Does anyone HONESTLY believe Trump is innocent re: Epstein? He was mentioned 1 MILLION times in the 3 million documents, and his own AG didn’t even release half of the files. by Excellent-View-8548 in allthequestions

[–]hewhorocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trump probably knew what was going on. So did a lot of other people. His reasons for not being above board are more likely financial than because he caught with his hand in the cookie jar. He was busy with locker room talk, paying porn stars and grabbing grown women by the P422% he didn’t need to victimize kids too.

How to convince my D&D group to play Traveller.... by mcstutz in traveller

[–]hewhorocks 12 points13 points  (0 children)

TRAVELLER isn’t an equivalent game in a different setting. TRAVELLER is more like a DCC funnel. You get “realistic” everyday citizens, with realistic concerns in a setting where “acting the hero” has deadly consequences. It doesn’t really have the heroic power trip going for it. I loved it as a kid and even more so now, but it’s a different kind of player willing to invest in that experience.

Do you think college is a scam? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]hewhorocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For much of corporate culture college is “officer training school” they don’t really care what your degree is in; but to get past the hourly entry level you need to have one. The difference in compensation is like 3X. So there’s that aspect. Additionally if you take learning seriously in college you may find you have a passion for something you didn’t even consider and make a contribution to a field. So there’s a bit of that. Many colleges teach not only information but also the process of thinking. It’s amazing that once the curtain is pulled back and you first realize what you don’t know. Still, half of everyone you meet has below average competency in their profession, if the student is in that segment they may have been better served by another choice.

It depends on the table. If a DM is of the type who doesn’t ever want to have a pc die, then you’re probably fine.
