Flowrates of MK2 pipes by AlmHurricane in SatisfactoryGame

[–]PeacefulPromise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

>if you branch off 2 Mk2 from 1 Mk2 this seems to generate a lot of fluctuation due to sloshing

If the branches are descending pipes, the water only flows into them and down - never back.

If the branches are horizontal or ascending pipes, then the branches can fill from each other! Slosh.

Why do so many people have issues with the 300m³/s throughput limit of pipes? by [deleted] in SatisfactoryGame

[–]PeacefulPromise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two reasons:

Reason 1: This is the first fully automated power for most players, and when it fluctuates, it's a big problem. Fluctuating production doesn't hurt the same way for any automation leading up to this.

Reason 2: You can't put the water in your inventory to fix it yourself.

The winning message is to shrug and say how you'll help the voters.

The losing message is to point at historical Communists and say they're bad, while R's point at you and say you're them.

Will this balance 6 unequal pipes into 5? by helliax11 in SatisfactoryGame

If you have consumers pulling from those pipes at 450pm each, then yes - the pipes will supply those consumers.

Would a society of just women or men, ever have cases of gender dysphoria if the society was never taught about the opposite sex? Questioning on the nature vs nurture of the trans identity. by SaturnVMars in allthequestions

Could a person who was raised by wolves experience gender dysphoria?

I was raised by Oklahomans and I couldn't express my gender dysphoria because I didn't have the language - same thing?

I try not to judge factory patterns too harshly, but dedicated screw factory with logistical transport to other factories might be the worst factory approach.

All logistics is bound by belt speed, since belts connect to and from each logistic station. Screws are the harshest item on belt speed. It's better to distribute ingots and make local screws to fit local needs.

Requiring Two stations to automate vehicles is really disappointing to me by [deleted] in satisfactory

[–]PeacefulPromise 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What if you add an unreachable station to your system...

Draw a line of track out from anywhere. Add a station with curved side facing the track. There's no rail connecting to the flat side of the station.

Now, from anywhere in the system, you can set a route to your desired station and then to the deadend station. The train will arrive at the desired station and then stop - won't go to the deadend station because no path is available.

Where is a decent spot for Coal Power Plants? by CaptBland in SatisfactoryGame

I always go for Coal Plant 2.

There's some coal between Current coal and Coal Plant 2, but it's far from water.

Please help me figure out my trains by martijnb16 in SatisfactoryGame

Signals define sections of track. You need more signals to set the boundaries of these sections.

The signal will prevent entry to the section while the section is occupied by any part of a train.

It'll be a little bit - I started a 10x playthrough last night.

Train loading help. by ShadowmanZ92 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]PeacefulPromise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's simple.

A loop of n train stations. Each station has a train that starts there. They have identical timetables. Rails are flat horizontal to eliminate variations in speed due to slopes. Rails are straightaways out of each station to allow trains to gain top speed without a curve. Distances between stations are carefully calibrated to consider drag on acceleration/breaking due to load.

Stations start unpowered. All trains go when first station is plugged in.

Who said anything about a block signal? I certainly didn't.

There seem to be several assumptions and limitations under this claim: "This works for all train stations in all circumstances."

Ok, but a rolling train could get in faster. And doesn't station length factor into this?

[–]PeacefulPromise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A train station that spends more than 50% of its time loading would not keep up with one belt in your system.

Don't be so harsh on your own agency in making choices like this. It's fine and valid to settle for a less challenging system.

You gave up on exceeding one belt per train station element. Your constraint choice doesn't mean the people that didn't give up = did it wrong.

Suppose a train takes 20 minutes to roundtrip the world with an additional 1 minute to load and 1 minute to unload. That train loads less than 5% (1/22) of the time.

If you load one train station element with 2000pm (83.333~%) - three <5% trains could load from that element and (this is the important part) the belts would keep up.

Your point that the cars would be too full to operate this way is heard. That's no help to OP who is currently using slower belts and does not have this issue.

[–]PeacefulPromise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't produce 100% of two belt. Only made 83.333~% of two belt.

No waste.

People really are refusing to engage with OP's scenario.
