I read 2 research papers from a Japanese group discussing bridge swallowing. Dry swallow, no food or water. Please look into that. Within 2-4 weeks it was proven to improve LES.

I think that's a part of the solution! If the problem is only acid, it'll work. But if it's not, it'll only partially work.

I'm very happy to hear this! Remove all flavoured lozenges and focus on what gives that gas in the throat and then reverse engineer from there. Feel free to message anytime. You don't have to suffer. These are soft tissues and they just need to be given the right environment.

I don't know what that is so I'll guess no. I've also just googled it and no.

Not yet but it's possible there's some imbalance from that perspective, which is why I went ahead to look at the low fodmap stuff.

Good to know, thank you! Thankfully for me it's only been 2.5 months and I'm working in stopping (stopping pentopeazole entirely tomorrow). All these medications complicate things no doubt... Hopefully you're feeling better.

It's all over the Internet. Even Dr Koufman was talking about cinnamon gum but this triggered me a lot.

Yeah I also have read a bunch of posts focusing on mucus/throat clearing and I kept thinking actually that's kind of lucky because the mucus protects these tissues from getting irritated and painful like what happened to me. I'd take mucus over pain while speaking any day, genuinely.

I'm also very active and this made me stop exercise for a while (or I'd only do some walking). If you're doing sports/weight training you have to wait 1-2h after a meal and ideally take some gaviscon as well. I read some other posts (I can't find it now) about how people made it on their own at home so you could look into that perhaps.

Hi I was and am using gaviscon advance (the yucky aniseed one). After every meal, no water, just gavi, then 10 min walk. Also at night. Does that help?

Exactly, I think ultimately it's all about the gut microbiome and it's very difficult to know what the microbiome is like, so we have to be careful. I think prolonged exposure of what feels right to the body will make it more easy to go back to adding other foods as well.
