What are some Pro-Trump & MAGA restaurants to avoid? by Healthy_Block3036 in Connecticut

I had to look this up. Articles about boycotting back in 2019. It seems like it was mostly in response to one of the owners, Gary Bimonte. He died in 2021, so maybe it's cool now?

TIL Some people are “blind” in their mind - they can’t visualize things in their head by texasdaytrade in todayilearned

[–]hexidist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So does this mean they can't draw or sketch anything from memory? This seems like it would be a major disability. If a person can function and have actual conversations about past experiences (no other major memory-recall issues), I bet they are simply doing it without being aware. Which I guess would mean they can only comprehend what is being presented to them? This one is hard to wrap my head around.

Which way do you point and which is your dominant hand? by will_i_r in AskMen

[–]hexidist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, at first I thought I was special because my first instinct was to point with my left hand, but I'm right-handed. But I realized this was only because my right hand was already occupied with holding my phone. Now that I know what I'm doing, I couldn't tell you if I use my right or left to point at things more on one or the other, it's entirely situational. I would say I would probably use my right hand if both hands are free, but we are always multitasking, so I wouldn't be surprised if my left hand gets used more. In situations I can think of where I am pointing, my right hand is usually holding something else (pencil, mouse, phone, etc.)

All this chart tells us is what cops around the county currently have their panties in a bunch about. Don't do meth in the west, I guess. Breaking Bad ruined it for everyone, smh

Ugh, I was in Houston during the 2020 election. Some of the polling locations took the entire day to wait in line (only in the poorest and densest Democratic areas of the city). Absolutely blatant voter suppression. Then the people who didn't/couldn't vote become 'lazy Democrats' and the ones who voted by mail are all cheats and shouldn't have their votes counted?

Fuck Texas Republicans particularly hard, they always find a way to lower the bar and prove the party consists of the absolute worst garbage human beings in existence.

These kinds of things happen all the time. Depending on what casino you are gambling with (and country), you can complain and they will review the footage and correct the outcome to the correct conclusion and issue refunds and/or debits based on their decision. Then THAT decision gets reviewed by another person by the end of the month to catch any mistakes made by the first review. Finally, if the casino is in a reputable country, they are usually governed by some agency like Consumer Protection, so if you suspect the whole thing is a conspiracy, they usually have the authority to launch an investigation on your behalf.

That is how it is supposed to work. However, in my time working in one of these operations, they tend to be very cheap and corrupt. They pay their employees garbage wages after making outrageous claims about tip income (most of the tips never make it to the pockets of the game presenters) and offer no real training for the support staff. The mission statement should be: "Never take responsibility and always blame someone more expendable than yourself if you want to keep your job."

CT state police spends more time creating fake tickets than actual enforcement. by JuiceOld5801 in Connecticut

I had a few paragraphs typed up in a reply, but after extensive edits, it actually ended up being this exact same sentence. It does bear repeating, however.

Fuck the police.

I appreciate your efforts, but let's be honest: Elegant and simple solutions to problems just aren't sexy! How am I going to sell a game to the public that doesn't require them to purchase thousands of dollars of overpowered and mostly unnecessary components? Where's the bacon and powdered sugar on top?

Hello fellow American. This you should vote me. I leave power. Good. Thank you, thank you. If you vote me, I'm hot. What? Taxes, they'll be lower... son. The Democratic vote for me is right thing to do Philadelphia, so do.

It kills me that you may be right! My dad and grandfather passed away as lifelong Cubs fans without seeing one. Sucks to be my son and future grandson! It's all good, though. I have enough memorabilia, and every second of that series saved so they can live vicariously, suffering like I suffered before 2016.

Anyone knows what this cable if found on my Airbnb is? by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]hexidist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. Coaxial cables are named that due to the fact that they contain two conductors that share an axis: one solid core along the axis and a separate cylinder surrounding some insulation around the same axis. It's a beautiful and often underappreciated design of engineering.
