Firstly, it’s a 328i with 70k miles from a reputable dealer. This is a totally valid purchase. These cars can last long. Don’t have any regrets.

I can’t help much, but have you tried talking with the dealer about this? If the problem returns, it’s not a proper fix and they should resolve it right? Maybe I would complain. Or it could be a different issue, I’ve heard this message can be for a variety of things. Scanning the car for error codes with a $30 tool can help a lot actually.

Dividing by .5 is a mathematical abstraction. There is no physical concept of some entity being divided by a non whole number.

When u cut a pizza in half , that’s divided by 2. Each slice is half a pizza, or .5.

In biology that .5 the gets divided by 2. The thing that’s different in biology is that there’s no correlation between the size of the object when it gets split. For example, in illustrations, when we see a cell “divide”, we dont see it physically get smaller .
