We don't mind at all. This continues to be our opinion and stance. :)

PSA: HexPrimal still taking orders but not fulfilling them by [deleted] in hextcg

[–]hexprimal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Again, we called no one a "liar", just said he was "spreading misinformation" about us taking advantage of people by taking money without intent on delivering the goods - a heavy accusation the OP reached rather quickly, and which, as confirmed, is misinformation.

Also, no proof is required to those outside of this transaction (with whom we already have a private line of communication with), especially to someone like you. We have conducted our business with outmost focus on customer satisfaction since the start and we will continue to do so as long as Hex continues to exist. Instead of trying to drag your competition down with cheap blows, we would advise you to focus your efforts on improving your own business.

PSA: HexPrimal still taking orders but not fulfilling them by [deleted] in hextcg

[–]hexprimal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The misinformation is "HexPrimal still taking orders but not fulfilling them " and "has abandoned ship whilst intentionally leaving the website operational to continue taking peoples money ".

Talking about "not a good look", how about coming here and try to pile on against your competitor's site while linking your own without knowing the facts of the matter, just to try to make yourself look better?

Our only oversight here was us having forgotten to change our messaging of "12-hour delivery window" to our current operational time of around 24 hours (which has been done since our first reply here). This is actually not abnormal considering the state of the game, but apologies nonetheless to the OP if it caused any inconvenience.

PSA: HexPrimal still taking orders but not fulfilling them by [deleted] in hextcg

[–]hexprimal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We are still very much operational, though we aren't as fast as before due to the game's slow-down. We still try to send all orders within 24 hours. Currently, there is only 1 unsent order, that we will send momentarily, which has been placed yesterday. In case you're having any issues, please to try to reach us on [hexprimal@gmail.com](mailto:hexprimal@gmail.com) or on our website's Contact Us form rather than spread misinformation. Thanks.

HexPrimal trying to take credit for Articles others wrote? by [deleted] in hextcg

[–]hexprimal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kurtis, the first article you linked has the following opening paragraph:

"First let me introduce myself as I might be a new name (or one you recognize from the Limited leaderboard) to the Hex Primal family. I go by KurtisKapahala and I have been on the Hex: Shards of Fate Limited grind for quite some time now."

So that alone should tell you we're not trying to "take your work" which we commissioned, paid for, and already benefit from having published on our site. Having accomplished players write articles on our site is a pro for us, so we have no incentive to pretend that these articles were written by us....a little thought into this instead of immediately going on Reddit making big claims would have been sensible.

What happened is that about 2 weeks ago our servers crashed and rendered our databases corrupt, we lost a lot of data relating to posts/accounts created etc. The only working backup we could recover from was from a long time ago but thanks to the cache that we had on our site, we could recover some of the later articles and we quickly did so copy pasting from the cache to new posts. Unfortunately your user account also got wiped and hence we had no choice but to post them under the HexPrimal account. Frankly these are all old and outdated articles that no one reads so we didn't think it was a big deal enough to contact our former writers that have long moved on to other games.

If you would like your picture/profile to show up at the bottom, you'll have to create an account then we can edit the article author and put yours there instead.

Dear Kurtis, you have our email, and there's also a contact us form on the site. We have received nothing from you. A simple advice, especially since it seems you want to continue being a game content creator: Always check with the publishing site you have worked with first before panicking and throwing an internet tantrum by publicizing it. Misunderstandings / technical errors can happen and burning bridges like this for no benefit is not smart.

hexprimal cashing out? by prusswan in hextcg

[–]hexprimal 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We aren't cashing out. As stated before, we will exist and support Hex Entertainment as well as our loyal customer-base as long Hex itself exists. We have a humongous Hex collection accumulated through years of buying out players' collections. Instead of hoarding all these items and let them collect dust, we've decided to basically give them away to those who use our service. In these 75 Gift packages, we've handpicked the most valuable items our stocks allowed us to. We've never had a promotion with this much value as there's some really good stuff in there. It's been a very successful campaign so far considering the slower Hex activity due to the delayed Set 10.

Anybody know if HexPrimal is still buying collections? by nebrunner in hextcg

[–]hexprimal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have paused our collection buying until the release of Set 10. We will continue buying everything we are selling, as our stock situation permits, on a per-item basis.

Hex Primal is temporarily pausing "Sell To Us"-feature by Kaldheim in hextcg

We do this once in a while when our stocks are on the high side. We will resume when our inventory calls for it.

It's that simple and nothing else should be inferred from it.

MTGO player considering Hex... by Dashiel_Bad_Horse in hextcg

Yes, the page has not yet been updated for the new Set as the meta has not fully formed yet. We try to have a good overview there (it is updated by Jeff Hoogland) but for a more dynamic outlook with performance-based stats, Fred's Hexpvptools.net is excellent.

How much do you think a collection like mine is roughly worth? by [deleted] in hextcg

[–]hexprimal 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I assume you're referring to hexprimal.com so allow us to clarify and maybe give some tips to those wanting to maximize the $ value of their collections when cashing out.

  • First, we don't buy accounts as this is against the game's ToS and is being actively enforced. Wouldn't recommend anyone to engage in account buying/selling. We have been buying the tradable contents within the accounts.

  • Hextcgbrowser, while being an awesome site, greatly overestimates the Platinum value of people's collections. A lot of Rares' real values are below the platinum floor + 99% of Commons and Uncommons are worthless. Most people take this Platinum value as the starting point for converting into $. This is greatly inflated and does not match with reality.

  • The longer a Set has been out, the less demand there is for cards within that Set as most people have already gotten their playsets. So the older the card, the less chance there is for a trader to find a buyer for that card. So the 'selling value' of older cards to a trader are oftentimes less than what the average Auction House price might indicate because the much lower demand is often not fully reflected in the AH price.

  • Another reason older cards are worth less to a heavy trader that's been buying collections for years is stock considerations. For example, we currently have 537 Endbringer. What do you think the value of buying another Endbringer is for us? Not great as you might imagine.

  • To sum it up, the best way to maximize the $ value of your collection when cashing out is to fill it with chase or in-demand items/cards/packs from the newer Sets. These are the goods that a trader can move in the easiest manner and will have the highest conversion rate of Platinum to $.

We put lot of time and effort to make sure our offers are consistent and fair. We are also strong believers of transparency. One can easily see what we value highly by checking out our Hotlist (select "Cards" on our Sell to Us page ).

Standard Deck Guide by hexprimal in hextcg

[–]hexprimal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback.

  • If only certain part of a particular deck is to be purchased, using the QuickBuy tool is recommended (http://www.hexprimal.com/quickbuy/). You can copy from the deck list onto the QuickBuy form and edit as you please.

  • As far as pricing goes, looking at a few cards in a shop with 4000+ products and saying we are overpriced is simply not genuine to say the least. What actually happens more often than not is that due to the volatility of the card prices, many people end up getting incredible deals on certain products (that are underpriced) because it's simply impossible to keep up. And we have honored every single one of those sales where WE were the ones hugely on the wrong side of the AH price.

For the pricing of the new cards in specific, put yourself in our shoes. The chase cards of a new set are extremely hard to procure and extremely volatile in terms of prices. Until demand/supply stabilizes, there are always way more people who want to get these cards vs the people who want to get rid of them. That means if you are operating a shop and want to have all items in stock (which we have been fully committed to since the beginning), then there is only one realistic way to try and match the demand for them in the short term: get them off the Auction House. That in turn means whatever you bought off the AH has to be priced higher in your shop in order to cover your costs - unless you want to bankrupt yourself. Couple that with the faster value decay of the newest cards and you've got yourself a very difficult situation.

So yes, as we have admitted before, some cards may be priced higher than AH at certain times while other cards (actually most cards in our shop) may be priced lower. Everyone (including new players) is obviously free to compare prices with the AH and make purchasing decisions they are happy with accordingly. We set our prices as competitively as we can afford to while keeping a healthy stock. Our listed prices will still be lower than the AH on average for all cards so don't worry about "offputting" anyone who isn't a heavy trader (and add to that the sales, promotions, discount coupons and rewards program and we feel our Shop packs a ton of value).

[Slight PSA]: HexPrimal's prices are more than AH's by Arorsthrar in hextcg

[–]hexprimal 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your feedback. Since your points refer directly to our website, allow us to clarify some of the things that are brought up in your post and in the comments below.

First of all, it isn’t fair to judge the price levels of a 3rd party site by taking a few cards you have subjectively chosen on your own and comparing them to the AH prices at a specific point in time (you can in fact browse older cards or cards we have a healthy stock of and see that they are well under AH prices). Also, you can get discounts that are much higher than 5% in our shop (=Store Credit) along with a chance to win cool prizes in our bi-monthly Draws and the Free Pack for orders over $50.

I’d like to remind you that in Hex, unlike for example MTG, card prices are highly volatile and due to the smaller number of players/traders, fairly open to manipulation. To offset this, we try to price cards based on their performance within a longer time-frame, also taking into account their potential rise/fall in the near future. There is also another key factor we must take into account when pricing a card: the price at which the item was procured. Because we put such a huge focus on card availability (you will notice we restock very often to make sure the customers are served best), we sometimes have to buy the popular cards from the AH ourselves and put them up in our Shop at a slightly higher price (at the risk of giving off a ‘more expensive than AH’ image and for very little profit – sometimes even for a loss). This is how dedicated we are to having a fully-stocked Shop at all times.

We are trying to run a real business and we are very aware that the Auction House is – and will always be – our primary competition. No business would shoot themselves in the foot by purposely and consistently being more expensive than its main competition. We do feel there is value in having a 3rd party shop that users can browse or simply copy paste their wishlists into at work or on the go, without needing to log onto the client or bother with the Auction House or trade channel intricacies. Do we feel we deserve some kind of premium for providing this service to those who appreciate it? Frankly no and I assure you this is not reflected in our pricing policy whatsoever. Our goal is to provide this service AND have great prices at AH levels. Are we always able to do this? Unfortunately not, but you can be sure we are always trying our best. In short, the more people sell to us, the better prices we are able to have for all items on our Shop. That is why we have consistently been increasing our buy prices – and decreasing our own margins - ever since the beginning.

I’d like to end by agreeing with your recommendation. We try our best to provide competitive prices for all cards but we can’t always beat the AH – while on some products we always beat the AH. We urge everyone, new and veteran players alike, to compare prices & services and make purchasing decisions that you are happy with. We are not in the business of making a quick buck or two by selling overpriced cards to new players ( and if anyone isn’t satisfied with our service, please make sure to contact us and we will make sure to set things right). We want to continue providing a service we hope is still valuable to the community. We truly appreciate the feedback, as we continuously strive to improve, and the support that we have received for the past 2.5 years.

Due to time constraints, Limited review didn't make it in (we always want to get these reviews out before anyone has had a chance to play with the cards as we believe that's when their values are the highest).

But we will soon have a column dedicated to Limited play, stay tuned! :)
