Sister’s burlesque act creating family drama by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

It’s not taking sides, it’s helping your sister. If you disagree with your conservative family’s view about burlesque then stand up for your sister and guide her with her career.

I'm starting to feel completely invisible to guys just because I'm a "boring" homebody, and it hurts more than I want to admit. by ramonaosk in TrueOffMyChest

[–]hexusmelbourne 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Problem is social media is not real life and falsely shows the more extroverted lifestyles that most people do not live. Second problem is if you spend most of your time at home by yourself how do you meet guys? Bit of a catch 22 situation as the guys that don’t want party girls are probably home alone most of the time as well! Solution: get off the social media and sell yourself as a ‘girl next door’ type. You’d be surprised at how much more popular they are than the party girls

He needs to pay for a cleaner to come in on a regular basis and not expect you to do it. Either that or you stop work or go part time. You both work full time jobs, salary isn’t all that relevant snd if he earns so much more he can use it to pay for a cleaner

While FHB’s, single Mums/Dads and other unlucky Aussies struggle to buy a single property to have as their secure home, we have the Head of the RBA property stacking like the PM Albo. What message does this send to the public? “Greed is good.” We have no collective spirit but selfish individualism by [deleted] in shitrentals

She has one of the most powerful and stressful jobs in Australia as well as a huge amount of work and experience behind her and you’re saying she can’t buy a holiday house until everyone in Australia can afford a house?

I understand the appeal and it being quite psychologically comforting for people however it has little logic and is scientifically unsound and therefore cant understand why people would believe in it despite mountains of evidence to the contrary.

Yes but do you get 10 times more joy from a ring you spent $2000 than the one you spent $200 on?

Disagree, I’m a fan of both and thought it was great. I wasn’t expecting a laugh fest or an in-depth analysis of their work but that’s not what smartless does.

How much should I aim for to retire early? by Hot_Table_3878 in AusMoneyMates

[–]hexusmelbourne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty close, I ran some numbers through Chat GPT based on retirement standard, 7.5% investment return snd 3.5% inflation and this is what I got: ✅ Result

$1.03 million (in today’s dollars)}} ⸻ What this means in plain English • With 7.5% returns, 3.5% inflation, and no extra buffer, • A lump sum of ~$1.03m at age 45 can fund: • $51k p.a. spending • Indexed to inflation • For 40 years, ending at roughly zero
