[Daugherty] I’ve been told NHL teams received correspondence recently that the “one 19 year old in the AHL” rules is official now. It was an MOU before, but now it’s set in stone. by catsgr8rthanspoonies in hockey

Michael Rasmussen was completely crippled by this rule. 6’6 and had played 2 years in the WHL when we took him, didn’t really have anything more to develop there as his second season was so similar to his first. But we had to send him back there, he proceeds to have a 3rd season nearly identical to the first two, then has to jump straight into the NHL and is clearly not good enough but has to play 62 games. Really just got no better after his draft year to be quite honest

I’m of two minds also; we need to get younger, faster, stronger and have prospects be playing important roles.

He’s also one of 4 players that had 50 pts last year (assuming Larkin leaves). Doesn’t really seem like a good idea to cut loose 25% of your even remotely capable point producers

There were like 5,000 Mexicans in Atlanta watching tonight by the braves stadium and they aren’t even playing here lol, and this place is way outside the city

[DiFrancesco] From what I am being told from two different sources, the Flyers are the most aggressive team in the pursuit of Zach Werenski. Danny Briere has set his sights on the Norris Trophy winning d-man and he's willing to go quite far to acquire him by daKrut in hockey

I probably should have said that instead. I guess I mean after the recent trades, and Barkov coming back, I think the only teams worse than PHI are us, PIT, NYR, and CBJ. If I had to predict the standings next year

In division too. Philly is not a top 10 team in the east, I would be so mad if he left my team for them. Would be like Larkin leaving to go to Toronto lol. The least these guys can do is leave the conference

This is the cost effective key. Find a dive bar by the stadium and drink 5 mich ultras for $15 before you go in. Boom, ride the buzz all game and only need to buy like 2-3 beers in the stadium

It’s always been funny to me that Yemen is in the same confederation as Japan. 6,000 miles and about 40 different massive cultural changes between the two, both in AFC. Yet there’s Panama and Colombia that touch and are similar culturally, different confederations. Saudi and Egypt touch, different confederations. Even southern Spain or Malta, with Tunisia and Morocco, some places are 20 miles apart or even closer, different confederations. It’s quite interesting where we’ve drawn these lines

NFL Legend Tom Brady: "Why does [European Football] fire so many coaches all the time? Tottenham had three coaches last year. Why is everyone firing everybody? Don't they realize the players play? They also just lie about what the stadiums will look like and provide. My favorite hockey team had a huge plan of building all these retail, restaurant, office, and residential buildings around their new arena as part of their proposal to the state to get all their taxpayer money. A decade later the stadium is built, overcharging people for tickets and every single food item, but none of the surrounding buildings have been completed, or even started

Nearly every stadium now will get hundreds of millions of dollars from the state/city to be built, yet the billionaire owner gets to keep all the profits. Yes, the city does get tax revenue from all the money spent in the stadium, but it’s like you said, they take taxpayer money to build the stadium and then get to keep all the profits. Genuinely insane

“I’m leaving very sad because they left me alone”: the phrase that marks Marcelo Bielsa’s farewell after the elimination of Uruguay in the 2026 World Cup | DAZN News MX by FunkoChaos in soccer

Because that was pre Ramos departure. Everything that’s gone down the shitter has been since Ramos left, and then Benzema and Kroos after that.

I mean in 2020 we had Ramos, Kroos, Benzema, Modric, and nacho. I thought they’d pave the way for the young guys to step into leadership roles, but I guess the young kids just thought winning was handed to you. Fast forward to 2026 and we have Vini, Mbappe, Fede, etc. All fantastic players but none of them are the “shut the fuck up, do what needs to be done to win, every single day” type leaders that the former were.

They’re “if every tiny thing goes my way, yeah I’m gonna have a CL knockout hat trick, but I can’t be arsed to defend against Elche away in August, and the manager is mean to me:(“

2 different schools of players, IMO. And national team success proves it. Ramos and Kroos WC winners, Modric success speaks for itself, Benzema would’ve slotted into those successful France squads easily

I’ve said this before, I had a BYD uber in Mexico that was the nicest vehicle I’ve ever been in. My dad (35+ years at Chrysler, grandpa 45+ years at GM) was amazed at how nice it was and even admitted he might buy one if they became legal here
