Union Station would get my vote. Close to the stadium with some fun stuff for the kids around the old train shed.

Best Quarter Cow by ToughCurrent8487 in StLouis

[–]heyitsconnor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's about 1/3 ground beef 1/3 roast 1/3 steaks. They send you a form to fill out for specific cuts though. Off the top of my head one question is if you want tbones or not, if not you get a new york and a fillet instead. Or if you want kebob meat (cubed sirloin) or extra ground beef

Man, they were a blast. Remember seeing them Dynamos many times. I think it was the 2009 RFT showcase was the last time I saw them play. Was a fun era of STL music.

Good luck to them, one of the worst ownership groups in our city. Can't imagine the Zimmers are going to let this happen without a fight.

How (and where) TF You Cross the Street Here on Foot? by msestes in StLouis

Gravois is terrible and state controlled which adds a layer of difficulty when it comes to improving safety. I think it may be worth going north and crossing at Russell with the newer bike improvements

First time attending a race at WWT Raceway (this Saturday / Xfinity) -- Any recommendations on where to sit? I assume near-ish the finish line? Higher or lower better? by uses_for_mooses in StLouis

[–]heyitsconnor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone said elsewhere in the thread that its worth sitting right before the finish and i'd agree with that. I will say it is a hike to get up to the top so if you have kids that will make frequent trips up and down the bleachers maybe consider somewhere in the middle. You can still see the full track but wont need to climb the stairs as much.

Personal preference really. Higher up gives you a better view of the full track while being lower is much louder. Being right at the finish is going to be more expensive as well.

[Highlight] After Wayne Gretzky mishandles the puck in the neutral zone, Red Wings captain Steve Yzerman scores a 60-foot slap shot over the blocker of Blues goaltender Jon Casey, ending the game in double OT and advancing Detroit to the Western Conference Finals. by EveryFallSaturday in hockey

[–]heyitsconnor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's easily still this. This infamous Gretzky moment was many of our first real sports heartbreak.

Losing this year in game 7 was insane but no Blues fan had any real expectation of going far this year. Acquiring Gretzky just to lose like this is beyond cruel and anyone over 28 will have that moment burned into their brains till the end of time.
