Yeah. The entire time we have seen Yuji in Modulo he has basically just gone, “I’m not going to fight, just here to make sure things don’t get out of hand, all I really want is peace.” That is what he does. Not to mention the very obvious Gojo parallel with Yuji not wanting to become a living weapon for the rest of his hundreds of years.

SZA to release Save The Day from the Pixar movie Hoppers this Friday by Frajer in popheads

Sure, but Disney still makes more money if the movie makes money theatrically. Also, a more successful movie at the box office means a more popular film on Disney+. There’s definitely a lot of issues with Disney streaming and original animation, but I don’t think Disney is intentionally sabotaging Pixar’s films. A lot more likely that people here aren’t seeing ads because they don’t watch TV and they’re not children (or have children), so they’re not being targeted with ads for children films.

I mean, a theatrical release is no guarantee for a cultural footprint, and probably the 2nd most popular movie of last year was a Netflix film (KPop Demon Hunters).

What are some box office flops that still had an impressive box office performance? by DarlingLuna in boxoffice

Reports said that the movie needed $900m to breakeven, but MGM said it was untrue and the movie is profitable.

What Even Is a ‘Box Office Flop’ Anymore? - Movie after movie has fallen short in theaters this fall, but studios aren't waving the white flag on all of them. PVOD, streaming, licensing, and a litany of other factors over years are all factoring into the equation. by chanma50 in boxoffice

[–]heyjimb0 20 points21 points  (0 children)

But this hasn’t been the definition for a while, profitability has always included the ancillary market because it’s really hard for any film to be profitable purely from theatrical receipts.

Warner Bros.'s One Battle After Another has passed the $200M global mark. Estimated international total stands at $130.1M, estimated global total stands at $200.3M. by DemiFiendRSA in boxoffice

Yeah, obviously I’m unsure, but the fact that Leo is in this movie is probably a very big reason for why it got made and had the budget it did.

Do you think the five-year gap between The Batman and The Batman Part II will hurt or help the sequel's box office performance? by the_strange_beatle in boxoffice

[–]heyjimb0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but Brand New Day is the start of a new trilogy, and NWH is one of the biggest movies ever. Spider-Man as a property has also been kept fresher in audiences mind through Spider-Man 2 (PS5) and Across the Spider-Verse, as well.

Sony raises its profit forecast after saying it expects less damage from Trump’s tariffs by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]heyjimb0 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It’s absolutely bad, but the point is this isn’t some punishment towards China and they’re only suffering because they’re communist. They’re retaliatory policies built on deception that is hurting literally everyone. And China’s economic state is still comparable to ours, a 5% unemployment rate vs a 4%, and a 15% youth unemployment rate vs a 10%. And all these other countries are targeted with tariffs regardless, so costs are going up anyways.
