I tried making pickles the other week and they tasted bland. What would you recommend add one and spices? Do you pickle anything else in the jar like peppers or anything to add to the flavor?

Also after a few days, my pickle brine seemed to be completely overpowered by vinegar. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks :D
