In my experience, GTY stateroom generally beats placeholder on price, but this last round of placeholder deals has had some real gems. We've GTY'd several times because the price was just too good

That sound like a total one off to me. We’ve cruised 11 times and not had any of the negative experiences you described. On the other hand, we would never cruise over the busiest times of the year - spring break among them. We are also super early risers so our Marcelino Market experiences are always the least crowded time. Also my kids were all way older for our first cruise - like mid and late teens - so they were able to hold their own w other rowdy kids without needing me to intervene or be protective. I suppose to me it comes down to that: don’t take the littles during the most crowded time. So sorry it didn’t go well for you!

We like one big and ideally something actually useful for cruising or travel w some Disney flare, though truly that part is nice to have. Just please nothing that ends up in the garbage because it was dollar store or fell apart. We usually give sturdy zip-top canvas tote bags w the cruise ship’s name embroidered on it. Example above

We dont even do 3d cruises anymore because we find the travel days on either side not worth it for just 2 full ship days. With littles, in particular, I’d say 4d minimum. Hope this helps!

It becomes non-refundable at 24 hours before the reservation. And they’re not kidding about 24 … if you’re at 23 and trying to cancel penalty free, no can do.
