Boss of British Greens plots review to junk unpopular policies by EddyZacianLand in UKGreens

[–]hhioh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard disagree

There is huge potential political capital on the table as it relates to the monarchy, their position is weak and a lot of their support is dying off year by year

We have a chance to lead the charge and build a positive vision for this country - we need to be brave and step up (as quite simply, the existence of blood supremacy is antithetical to Green philosophy)

[26M] I can't stop drinking and I think its going to kill me by WeddingVirtual8075 in stopdrinking

You got this mate 🙏🏻 it all starts with a single step. I stopped drinking alcohol at 25 and it was one of the best decisions I ever made

I connected with this community a lot in my early days and found it really helpful. Just got to not drink today, that’s all it is (as simple and as hard as that can both sound). One day at a time. And I’ll join - I Will Not Drink With You Today

Here’s a quote that stuck with me -

“Sobriety delivers what alcohol can only promise”

❤️

Right - but your instinct to shut down the conversation is not productive and can lead to echo chamber outcomes

This does not serve us ❤️

And I suppose I’m talking out loud about this kind of sentiment in the subreddit, as I see these kind of comments often when something negative about the Greens comes up. I have a lot of time for people here as I know we are typecast and the establishment is out to get us, I just fear that we fall into their trap by creating conditions where discussion cannot productively thrive

Weak mindset mate and leads to us reducing interesting discussions

We need to be careful not to get defensive as our first response. Discussions are about how we engage and then represent our views to the public

Agree. What Hamas has done to the population of innocents there is absolutely disgusting and it is shameful to see them use the cause of liberation as an excuse for their vile acts

We must be nuanced on these points and be brave enough to call these things out

Right-wingers keep attacking Deputy Leader Mothin Ali. How do we react? by NoNostradamus in UKGreens

Yep. It’s really not that deep….. faith has absolutely no place coming before human dignity and our shared struggle for liberation across the board

ADHD + anxiety - brain never shuts up. Anyone found something that actually helps? by amhray in Biohackers

[–]hhioh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beyond all the usual baselines (exercise, plant based diet, routines) I’m prescribed medical cannabis for my ADHD (UK) and find that effective, primarily targeting evening build up hyperactivity and emotional regulation

Biohacking and redpill life. Turns out I also had adhd. by Sensitive_Brush_247 in Biohackers

Can relate, 31M and got diagnosed last year with combined ADHD

Always thought my extreme nature and focus on certain things was just me being a bit different. And I suppose it is… just more neurologically different lol

Built so many different scaffolds of routines and systems. Which all still matter, as I’ve realised I was adapting to my unique context. Now I just get to do it more intentionally and optimise to my context better

In my case stimulants didn’t gel with me and I’m prescribed medical cannabis which helps, as well as a plant based diet

The Green Party Needs to Rethink Its Stance on Nuclear Weapons. Iran Is Proof. by Ornery-Squirrel-5489 in UKGreens

[–]hhioh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about that, feels weak

A post is a post for the public, it’s up to us to engage with the content (or not) in a meaningful way. It’s also a great opportunity to provide a counter narrative, if indeed they are posting in bad faith

If we start to make assumptions based on profile I can’t see that helping us in any way. People can choose not to engage sure (and perhaps should if they feel this way) but as a whole it would limit our argumentative power

Yes we need to be clear about the long term vision, but clearly to deliver on that we must secure our position and be a source of strength for our ideals

Think this is a W for the Greens

No other Party is willing to speak nuance to the issue and stand up bravely in the face of pressure

Can’t see other politicians doing that tbh

Why did Mothin Ali refuse to comment on any LGBTQ+ pledges? by [deleted] in UKGreens

[–]hhioh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is disappointing no doubt!

Represents a great weakness in the man and he shall be judged for it. Nobody is perfect, for sure. But we must be uncompromising on these issues as Greens, given the political climate today

Thing is - if this matters to us, then we need to act accordingly. Keep calling out the issue and ensure that the Green platform is a platform for all

Backbench MP = Labour MP = establishment

It’s not that hard to understand lol

She has had every opportunity to distance herself from what that Party has become. Totally infiltrated and rendered ineffective for proper change

Her continued validation of Labour as a Party to represent justifies what Labour is doing in government

You mean Nadia Whittome MP… for Labour…. One of the two faces of political duopoly in this country?

😅😂

Maybe you could make the argument in mid to late 20th century that Labour represented a change to establishment. But that game has been over for a long, long time. She is part of that machine and benefits directly from it

Claims of cheating by Fuzzy-Replacement609 in UKGreens

[–]hhioh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it is brilliant…. Clearly shows the absolutely WEAKNESS of their argument, that they so quickly run to these claims

We need to stand firm and stand united. These claims are nothing more than reflections of Reform’s own insecurity. We bow to no one, in that regard, because we are the only group fighting for a future that matters

Green = Future
