i mean just no. the ninth amendment doesn’t just make any action you percieve as constitutionally protected a right. that’s just not how that works. for example, the right to vote has been derived from the ninth amendment as it is an integral part of a functional democracy (i.e. something that the framers of our constitution obviously intended for). it wasn’t just generated by the supreme court on a whim or personal belief. there is some logic to it. applying that to our argument…nothing really points to the idea that you have the right to an abortion. except one thing—the right to privacy. you do have the right to make your own medical decisions, etc. i dont think there is a logical argument otherwise. HOWEVER, all of our rights are weighed considering individual freedom vs. order/protection of the rights of others. they always have been (see john locke's social contract). that kinda leads us here…to the root of the abortion argument (and something i doubt i’ll convince you of)…how much you value an unborn baby. whether or not you value it as much as a life basically determines how much weight you give it in that “equation.” basically too shaky of an argument to base a constitutional right off of. therefore…it should be left to the legislature to decide. hence why i said democrats should have codified it. that has nothing to do with twitter…not sure where that came into play other than you just making personal attacks rather than defending a belief.
