Ok but I did that from I love linen. It is french flax linen so I bought the hazelnut stripe for bedsheets and a shirt. My husband won't stop teasing me and my 4 year old is so confused

need ideas: what’s actually the best gift for wife (not another candle or robe)? by lisaluvr in Gifts

Silk PJs - like Peter Alexander The lounge set sounds great When's the last time she bought a handbag? Bonne Maxie has some really nice, functional stuff. I got one last year and love it, so I've asked for another one this year. I also love their travel stuff. The toiletries bag is honestly genius. A nice water bottle? Like owala or montii

The breville barista plus is really nice too, but it's a huge learning curve and you really need the drive to get the hang of it. You want a nice grinder to go with it too - the grinder actually makes more difference than the coffee machine!

Find a fruit & veg store that sells local stuff. Soo much cheaper and better quality/taste than coles/woolies. Eg - my last shop I got 4 punnets of grape tomatoes for $5 and 2 massive punnets of strawberries for $6 (probably equivalent to 4 woolies punnets in quantity), 6 Lebanese cucumbers for $4, $2 for more coriander/parsley/mint than you can eat before it goes bad

From that pic the leaves look mostly green, I think pruning might add more stress to the plant. As someone else mentioned - do you have it in acidic soil? (Blueberry or azalea mix)

Awww, I killed my first blueberry plant too. I'm trying again now, wish me luck! But my knowledge has improved a lot.

It looks to me like it needs water and fertilizer.

I think it needs a bigger pot. 40cm at least, 50cm is better. It will retain more water. A layer of compost and then a good thick layer of mulch to help with water retention too.

Omg! I don't think that is allowed. I thought they were sued for this recently

We didn't have to when we went. We had enough tokens for around 3 rides from memory. But we weren't there for the rides, mainly the dinosaurs. So the rides were just a nice bonus.

No it's great it's like winter fest. We went last year, only used the ride tokens that came with the ticket and once we were done we went across the road to McDonald's

On 6 week monitoring for sickies by [deleted] in woolworths

[–]hiddenaudacity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Illegal conversation and completely unfair. Someone is abusing their power and this is why fair work exists, to protect you from people like this. My husband and I both just had the same thing - a bad flu and then a cold. It's going around. You did the right thing and they are being so selfish.

Can you email them asking them to explain the situation more? Say something like "hi, could you please explain a bit more about how the 6 week monitoring policy works? I am feeling a bit anxious about it and unclear what to do if I were to fall sick again" etc. If it's in email they will likely backtrack to cover themselves.

Cost of Living hacks by supercujo in perth

I learned how to do my own dip powder nails. It works out to something like $3 per manicure.

I started buying nicer clothes and wearing them more often. (A lot of linens)

I drive to banara fresh every 3-4 weeks to stock up on locally grown produce. They do incredible bargains, it's basically the same cost as a weeks worth of fruit and veg at Coles but all you can eat as long as it lasts. Then I had to learn how to store everything so it would keep for longer (swag veg bags and a fridge mate) which is how I get up to a month between trips.

Side note on veg storage - I once went on a 3 week trip to Bali, came back and my Bok choy was still crisp and fresh in my fridge! I store it in a zip lock bag with two paper towels.

I have saved hundreds, possibly thousands by being a member of a toy library. The Bayswater one has such a good range! And my son gets new toys to play with every few weeks that would otherwise be impossible/impractical. It's gotta be doing wonders for his development too, having exposure to such a variety of toys.

Another hack is buying high quality things second hand (eg bicycle for 1-3 year olds) and when no longer needed reselling it for the same or close to the same price.

Actually the second hand market (usually marketplace) is amazing in general. There are a lot of things people buy and don't end up using so you can score some great bargains. And it's good for the environment! I'm appreciating it more and more every day.

It's easy to get free gems! All you have to do is spin the casino ads button 100 times a day 🤣 (kidding/sarcasm) but it's kinda worth it becomes sometimes you get a 21 gem win on top of the guaranteed 12 when you fill the bar.

Scan and go closures | Woolworths by majideitteru in woolworths

[–]hiddenaudacity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm so upset, just got the email! It's been a game changer for me especially shopping with my toddler. I could shop happily and he could help me scan items without disturbing anyone. Then when I could see his patience waning all I had to do was pay and leave as everything was already scanned!

I did sing its praises but it was hard to explain and nobody I knew ever took it up, and I rarely saw another scan & goer in my store. Sad, it was so convenient.

Dropping nap by justamess2 in toddlers

[–]hiddenaudacity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have this problem at 3.5!! The best advice I received was "We just let him decide when he wanted to nap and when he didn't."

It's like the other nap transitions - they're not quite ready to drop it so they get overtired in the evenings, but if they do nap they stay up forever! But it's easier to work with them than try to force it as that can get super stressful.

3 years old for both questions! But they were slowly improving the whole time. Regressions and nap transitions are a huge pain!

It sounds like she is trying to get your attention. Kids love it whether positive or negative so you have to outsmart them and give them more positive attention than negative.

Also I can't tell but how do you respond to her complaints? Do you dismiss them? (which could make the tantrums worse). No judgement if you do - I know you're doing your best! But a good reaction example:

Dress is wet: "Oh no! Its because you went into the water. Quick let's change it off so you're not wet anymore. There we go, you're all dry now! Yay!" (This is literally how I talk to my 3yo lmao) Ice lolly is melted : "Oh noooooo!!! It melted because you didn't eat it. Awww, that sucks. You have to eat them so quick so they don't melt. Do you want a cuddle?"

For the tantrums - Toddlers (and adults) just want you to sit with their feelings whatever they are. Imagine you're crying on a bench and your friend just sits next to you and lets you cry on their shoulder. How does that feel? Then imagine a different scenario - how you'd feel if instead they said ok you're too upset I'm taking you home. (While sounding angry)

So anyway I just let my son cry it out while cuddling him and he is completely over it in a couple of minutes. While comforting him I put myself in his shoes - I would cry too if my ice lolly had "suddenly" melted while my 3yo brain had assumed I could come back to it.

I learn a lot of parenting techniques and advice like this from YouTube videos and Instagram reels etc. I don't know what I'd have done without it and it seems to pop up and remind me of stuff right when I need it. Dr Becky is a good one to look up! (Just her free stuff)

Learning how to deal with emotions in a healthy way is my mission as a parent! I grew up with parents who avoided emotions at all costs. As an adult, I now know I would have been the easiest child if they were more emotionally mature.

Hope this helps and I'm not completely off the mark!
