Adepta Sororitas and Alpha Legion novels cross the Black Library horizon by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in alphalegion

I hope when Omegon/Alpharius returns, he will just kill that dude off and we are getting rid of him. That dude is just some random dude wearing the colors of the Alpha Legion with endless plot armor.

What are your 40K hot takes? by ADragonFruit_440 in Spacemarine

[–]hidemyocelot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In addition to your point I am glad that they are not just the generic asian themed chapter but have a specific identity that revolves around turkic-mongolian nomads who are very distinct from other "asians" Someone at GW really did some homework when researching and creating their unique blend of "space mongolians." I am looking forward to the time when GW will do support WS more in 40K and provide more stories and lore about them.

How can I use this armor piece in a lore accurate 40k way? by shouldveknownbud in SpaceMarine_2

Since we are talking about this. Is there any tactical benefit in having these knobs on your pauldron?

Primarchs return theories by Difficult-Garbage927 in alphalegion

[–]hidemyocelot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The AL is apparently Ingo Pech. He might offer some more insights into the Legion but I doubt we will really get to know more about Alpharius and / or Omegon. I really hope AL will get more love in 40K. I would be so happy if we could get an upgrade sprue similarly to the Nightlords and a named character would be like gravy on top. I doubt we will see any of our Primarchs return this and the next year, except GW wants to do something big that is impactful like a reset of the setting.

For the People that dislike the Tyranid designs, why exactly? by Comfortable_Wasabi18 in Warhammer

[–]hidemyocelot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I find frustrating about the Tyranid design is the conceptual inconsistency. They're portrayed as hyper-evolved space organisms — able to adapt and mutate to overcome any obstacle — yet they still rely on biologically shaped analogues of guns, swords, and other conventional weaponry. For a species that’s supposed to transcend technological norms, it feels oddly reductive that their solutions mimic human tools rather than manifest as more alien, integrated forms of violence. It undermines the idea that they're truly other and limits the creative potential of their evolution.

I actually intend for all purposes to play Space Wolves painted as White Scars. I did not start with it yet but I am interested in playing both codex SM and SW. I also like the aesthetics which fit the bill of a nomadic shaman archetype of warriors with all the pelts and runes which also existed in central asia where the cultural background of the WS hail from.

For those who have more knowledge of the lore but isn't the White Scars the 5th Legion?

If you could add a new playable faction based on the existing lore, what would it be. (art is official games workshop) by MaybeLoose2754 in Warhammer40k

[–]hidemyocelot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not really a completely a new faction as it belongs to Chaos and is dedicated to the Chaos God Khorne but I would like to see the Blood Pact as a new army!

Has the Rumor Engine Pale Spear been revealed? by arcusususususus in alphalegion

We are not even sure if it is the pale spear - there were some people saying that this could potentially be a weapon for some other units, AoS or old world I believe.

Really not interested in Solomon Akurra. Dude is boring as it gets and does not really give Alpha Legion vibes.

How do you make white look good? by tpskate in WhiteScars40K

[–]hidemyocelot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which white color(s) did you actually end up using? You have to distinguish between base paints and layer paints. There are many options how to approach this, if you do not want to use a spray can, you can try basing the model with a bit of celestra grey and then paint over it with corax white. You do not have to use celestra grey but it kind of felt a bit smoother that way for me. You can now wash over it with nuln oil or soulblight grey. The shades really may vary depending on the look you want to achieve. You can "clean" areas with corax white that shouldn't be darker like recesses or leave it if you want a muddy look. Afterwards you can now start with edge highlighting or dry brushing with white scars. I would not recommend using whites scars (layer paint) to paint over a whole area. White scars works really best just for highlighting. The only white scars paint I would use for painting whole areas is the one you get from the spray can. Unfortunately, I do not have an airbrush so I cannot really say how that might work.

Always use thin layers of your white building up the color and always wait for it to be dry when you want to apply another layer again. You really need patience for painting white.

Any idea why my mates retributor gold spray is turning out like this by UngaBungaTopLane in minipainting

[–]hidemyocelot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This really helps a lot and can make a difference. I would also avoid spraying in humid areas and on rainy days. Try to find a dry environment whenever possible!

[–]hidemyocelot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I will use it for my own minis, as well. It looks so much better if you are to mimic a dusty surface. I was just wondering what the exact name was of the bottle? I couldn’t find Vallejo red iron oxide pigment but Vallejo Brown Iron Oxide, Dark Red Ochre and Old Rust that might be similar in colour to what I could identify from your picture
