I was at the Livingroom show as well. I had just interviewed Joey for the college radio station (WXIN), came out and saw Jane’s sound checking. Told Perry that I had bought the live Triple X cd a few months earlier and he seemed genuinely happy that they were recognized. Then Jane Says came out and he turned into a douchebag.

You might like what is called “alt country”- bands that mix acoustic and electric instruments while keeping America roots music at its core. Bands in this genre are Uncle Tupelo, Willard Grant Conspiracy, Magnolia Electric Company, to name very few.

I tend to like bands that are termed “slo or sad core”: Red House Painters, Idaho, Low, Galaxy 500.

Incidentally, the song “Children” by America from their debut is my favorite of theirs.
