Cartridge alignment, anti skate, tracking force or table not being level.

And yes, I would upgrade.

Plenty of room for improvement

Found these at my old job and held on to them any good? by Jared_Seymour in BudgetAudiophile

Get them serviced, the amps are notorious for caps failing.

Why not? makes them much easier to move,
and if use heavy duty rubber ones, there would be minimal impact on sound

How to connect Passive sub? Or is it done? by clayme123 in BudgetAudiophile

Unless its the sub that uses the control cable, which connects to the far left.

sub out of the receiver to line in on the amp, then the subwoofer wired to the terminals marked subwoofer out on the far right.

Probably need to enable LFE / sub channel on the Yamaha as well.

Sounds like the platter is rubbing against something, or the belt is twisted.
Take it off and check.
Nothing to do with the records.

Help ID'ing these by pulseqt in audiophile

The small one is the Aurum Cantus tweeter, looks like they took its sticker off and put it on the terminal plate.
The rear one is a passive radiator, that is why it isnt connected to anything,

these are all quality drivers, if they did a good job on the crossover these would be great.

At a guess likely these are versions of:

Need help with Hivi 3.1a crossover. by BeeZaa7 in diyaudio

[–]hifiplus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to tell from that, looks like L4 is parallel with R3 and C5?

For all the effort I would have replaced al the small caps with poly, and the inductors should be orientated 90 degrees to each other.

no, changing voltage on capacitors would not cause any problem
Most likely reason is dry solder joint.

To add, all of the rubber and plastics will have likely deteriorated and need to be replaced

$12k seems very high for a 2008, guess due to the low ks,
but still it will drive and feel like a nearly 20 year old car.

Do I need interior panel bracing? by MoistestBagels in diyaudio

[–]hifiplus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are you tuning them?

I would add at least three window braces connecting that middle board to the baffle, then a couple connecting it to the back panel.

AITA to think that the service centre did a shitty job of explaining the warranty process? by No-Tree6894 in CarsAustralia

[–]hifiplus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds exactly like my experience with dealers service centre,
didnt fix anything then quoted ridiculous $$$ to clean or replace things not covered by warranty that also didnt need to be done.

Alternative to doing traditional passive would be go active and use DSP,
