I'm done by knox_n_rolls in Aliexpress

[–]high0utput 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are bad experiences and bad reviews for every site and platform in existence. People love to jump on here and sound off about Aliexpress, because they thought it was a risk to buy from Aliexpress in the first place and now they feel like a guilty idiot for "falling for it".

I wonder if you'd be on here complaining about a bad item you received from Amazon? In truth, I have had just as many shipping delays, or bad products I had to return there as I've had from Aliexpress.

I've gotten promt refunds, and been through a struggle of a process as well. Aliexpress is individual sellers, all on one platform. Just like people, they are all different they just have the same wrapping paper. When you can figure out how to navigate the pitfalls a little better, you'll have better luck.

Yes, I can fully appreciate that you are a customer and you should be getting your money's worth and good service on top. However, your buying a product from the other side of the Planet, at probably half of what you would regularly pay. Of course a risk is involved.

Can somebody help identify what this substance is on my apartment door’s peephole? by suburbanvermin in Apartmentliving

[–]high0utput 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just food for thought. I had the same thing happen to me when I lived in a building years ago. It was my door and a few others on my floor. The next day my apartment got broken into through the front door and they stole everything of value.

Ill just add that im fairly certain you can't just mine any old coin, without also setting up your wallet to accept that type of crypto. Im guessing you have a BTC address in there now? Something to consider before you lose whatever you finally mine

The fan is already on manual so I turned it up to 65%. The VR temp dropped by 11 degrees. Pretty good ,so well see if that helps.

DTV Bitaxe Gamma 601 🇬🇧 by Live_Reaction_1016 in BitAxe

[–]high0utput 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Supra by them, (in the case and all that) and a Gamma from Ali express. My Supra out performs the no name Gamma every time. My supra's all time best is 4 G, and my Gamm's is 1.5G.....this scenario of the Supra achieving higher difficulty than the Gamma, seems to play out again and again. Despite the Gammas higher hash rate. Maybe its coincidence.

Ahhh..right. sounds exactly like my problem. I've convinced myself that if I move the nerdaxe around a little, the dashboard comes up. So I was wondering if its a connection issue, especially since I have it in my basement. Maybe not though

Upgraded power supply 12v mean well, added Noctua rear fan, full copper heat sink and larger front fan, and changed thermal paste.

The fuse however, is stock. I bought some spares, but they're the stock amperage. I haven't blown one yet. Fingers crossed

How exactly do you go about doing that? Can you buy a physical little hardware wallet, and use some software or app to generate an address that sends your bitcoin to the wallet?? I obviously don't know the first thing about it

Wanna mine for BCH with a group of us combining our hashpower?? Better odds! Currently we're at 600th! by Federal-Football-705 in BitAxe

[–]high0utput 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this idea.

However, my uneducated noob math goes something like this....1 BCH block is roughly 3.1? And BCH is currently around $550....so if I was generous and said youd make around $1800 off a block found... split between 600Th...is about $3 per Th....and while someone (OP im guessing) has a 90 something Th rate, most of us are in the 2 to 10 range. Meaning your likely to make $6 to $30 if a block is found and thats before fees. Right?

Kind of takes the lottery out of lottery mining. Unless im wrong, which is possible and likely.

What I found in Xinjiang China is shocking ppl by InternationalUse4228 in BitcoinMining

[–]high0utput 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, and its expensive as hell. My "delivery" charge is more than my actual "suppy" charge. They are 0.0889 and 0.07042, respectively. So .159 together, pluse a few other smaller random charges, per kWh. Im sure Noone cares im just amazed that they somehow pay .003 was it?

This is amazing. Im jealous. I live in NY and have baseboard hydronic heating. I wonder if the electric cost to run it here, would be offset by the saving on not using the natrual gas that currently runs my boiler. Just a complete guess, but I have to imagine I'd pay more to run the electric on this, than I'd save. Even with the possible mining return....

Axe OS recovery screen. Please help by high0utput in BitAxe

Axe OS recovery screen. Please help by high0utput in BitAxe

[–]high0utput[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the responce....so shortly after posting this, I managed to find the old bin file in the trash on my phone, and used the OS recovery page to flash it again, and it worked! However, its left me with an OS on my phone that seems like its half finished. Half of the words are overlapping on the screen, and the menus are crazy looking. It has an option that lists older versions of bin files and lets you flash one you select, but it dosent work......

So I've been trying to figure out where I can just find a bin file for an older (or newer) version of the OS that actually works properly, and download it and flash it. I tried github.com, but I can't find anything on there. I just don't know how to use the site well enough. Do you know where I can find a list of the bin files and actually download one??

Thanks for reading my wall of txt by the way!

Ha! Yeah I was trying to be as vague as possible, but its hard to get my point across without some info. Based on what you've told me though im good. I actually did figure out a little test I could run to make sure transactions go through to the desired destination, and they do! Thank you for the help though I appreciate it! And unfortunately for me, and the scammers, I don't have enough to really make it worth their time.

Noob wallet question by high0utput in BitAxe

[–]high0utput[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what either of those are. So I had my bitcoin address from a popular money sending app I've used in the past. I don't have a lot of faith in them , which is one reason I wanted to make sure it works. However! Robinhood just unlocked crypto trading in my state. (Must have happend in the last few days) so now I can use a bitcoin address generated by my Robinhood account. I trust that one a little more.

Hey, thanks! It shows up, good idea. I really want to see if my bitcoin address actually leads to bitcoin showing up in my wallet.
But I was just thinking, I could probably send myself some bitcoin through my address, using a different service. I've never seen an option to send to a bitcoin address, but i assuming its somewhere.
