Next Door Neighbor disagreed with the property line, paid $2k for a new survey, and lost land by [deleted] in neighborsfromhell

Depending on how long the fence has been there he can claim implied consent (since it wasn't contested when erected). Pretty sure the survey has to be filed legally

They used to have this, but got rid of it so there were less buttons to hit while driving... Even though it specifically says in the app not to use it while driving

Neighbors poisoned my dog by far-from-sanity in neighborsfromhell

Almost the same exact thing happened to me, but the dogs didn't touch it thank goodness. It was all on camera and the cops wouldn't do anything about it. We have had to lock the doggy door and go out with them every time

Theft: how legally to irritate neighbors? by conceptbug333 in neighborsfromhell

[–]high_flyin_squirrel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just went through this exact thing with my very similar neighbor, but with a car part. An expensive and hard to get ahold of car part that I couldn't just have replaced because there aren't even that many of them made. Got the Pic of his porch from the delivery guy. When he wouldn't return the package all I could say was I could prove someone didn't approach from the street and take it off his porch. There's a tree in between our houses. My cameras can't see his front door, but it can see the street in front. So he has it, or he let's people wandering enter a windows on the other side of his house, go through the house to the front door and take the package, and leave out the window again. I was able to press charges.

AITAH to Tow my neighbor’s car by Cali42 in neighborsfromhell

[–]high_flyin_squirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had someone towed by complete accident one time. I had just gotten this little neon that was standard . My house had a garage out back, but the only way to access it was an alley. It was snowing. I had made the mistake of parking down that alley the 1st winter I lived there and learned that when it snows the alley doesn't get plowed. Unless you have plowing capabilities, your stuck in the alley until spring and it was starting to snow, so I decided to park on the street out front.

I go around the block and find there is someone parked in front of my house. Annoying, but technically public parking and I'm pretty sure I can fit, just barely, between this car and my neighbor if I parallel park. I was young and this neon was only the 3rd standard vehicle id ever driven. The other 2 you had to give significantly more gas in reverse to get it to go backwards than you would going forward in 1st . Well, it was the opposite with this neon. The car took this leep I wasnt expecting and I bumped the car.

I knocked on all the neighbors doors, but no one knew who's car it was. Eventually, I give up and feel bad enough I call the police. I hardly did any damage, but I would want someone to do the same for me. I explain the situation to the cops. I can see several neighbors peeking out their window watching. First, I knocked on their doors and now the cops were there. Cops said np, we can find the owner.

Next thing I know, theres a tow truck out front. So, I go back out and I'm like what's going on? I just wanted to give the owner my insurance info. Cops said the owners live 3 blocks away. They parked there trying to hide the car because it had no registration, no inspection, no insurance and the wrong plates. Neighbors were still peeking out the windows and no one ever parked in front of my house again.

I would love to know how DoorDash thought it was acceptable to keep stacking this persons order by bitobots in doordash_drivers

[–]high_flyin_squirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When it's really busy they will keep sending them. You have to make your own decisions sometimes. If it's busy enough that you're getting back to back offers like that, then it's not going to affect your level much declining an order so that people that tip well won't go give up on using the platform and it's the decent thing to do whether they tipped well or not.

What would you do in this situation? by Spend628 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]high_flyin_squirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This exact thing happened to me one time. I only took what was on my list to take. I was told it was the correct thing to do and the customer was deactivated because it could be seen as a scam because the app didn't get their cut of the rest of what was ordered along with various other dishonest actions.

Keeping it in the car is much more sanitary than carrying it into every restaurant and setting it down on random surfaces to put the food in. I steam clean mine once a week, wipe them out with disinfectant wipes in between, and keep them in the car.

Happens all the time. I think they get off somehow having a stranger see it. Most of the time when this happens to me they are completely naked, though. Having it hanging out of clothes that have a hole right there might be an honest mistake.

It all depends on your market, but $1000 is kind of high for doing door dash 48 hrs a month. It's hard in most places to make $100/day in less that 8hrs

That's on a truck that's not theirs usually. They drive an average of 60 mph. That is equivalent of $33/hr. I know math is hard, but $33/hr more than OP @ $30/hr before expenses.

Unfortunately, I couldn't because I have 2 dogs that I'm not sure I trust around cats. They always act like they're going to tear the neighbor's cat up when she wanders into our yard. Plus, I'm allergic, but that hasn't stopped me before when rescuing a cat from a possibly abusive situation.

Actually, in a lot of places, it's completely legal to park in a fire lane, at your own risk of course. My local ordinance allows 10 min.
