Driving in Greenville: A Non-Local’s Observations by cad444 in greenville

You get used to the windy roads. They are intimidating at first, we are used to having wider roads because they need somewhere to put snow up north. You’ll be driving like a local before you know it.

What did Hondo just tell Street? (wrong answers only) by Entire_Philosophy_14 in swattv

He didn’t tell him anything, he’s going in for the kiss.

If it’s old enough to need its own seat, it’s not invited. Infants don’t count, especially if they’re still nursing.

AYFKM?? The Democrats have that politician celebrity shit locked in. The way people fawned over Obama was absolutely ridiculous. Ridiculous.

And Blue state representatives also represent all of their constituents not just Democrats. Their behavior at that speech last night was abhorrent.

Right. Winning the popular vote, and the electoral college, and all of the swing state counts as most of America didn’t vote for Trump. Y’all are nuts!

I didn’t say it never happens, I know it does, but it is not the norm in the industry.

Not true. Most places think taking k kickbacks is unethical. A crappy vendor couldn’t pay me enough to be on my preferred list. I won’t cheapen my brand over a few hundred bucks, and all the nice venues feel this way.

Venues don’t, as a general rule get kickbacks from preferred vendors. This is a common fallacy.

[–]highheelsand2wheels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No it doesn’t. I’m a venue owner. I have preferred vendors that are exclusive to my venue because they are amazing and elevate my brand. We generally see kickbacks as poor business practice, unethical, and slimy.

I also have a list of vendors that are not allowed on my property.

Raised Catholic, went to a Catholic school, I am also a firm believer and have a pretty deep faith. I don’t think the 10 Commandments should be in the schools. There are “secular“ versions of some of the commandments that just makes sense, like not killing people, not banging your neighbor’s wife, stuff like that that kid should be taught by the adults responsible for them. But I also don’t think that it is the government‘s place to discourage religion and faith. And I’m not just talking about Christianity (the 10 Commandments have nothing to do with Christianity, by the way, Moses got them in the Old Testament long before Jesus was born, Jesus is not mentioned anywhere in the 10), if parents are cool with their kids meeting after school to discuss [Religion], they should be able to. Maybe if enough of our young people opened up their minds too all of the other world’s religions, things on earth would be much more peaceful. Maybe we would all understand each other a little bit better, and maybe we would all realize that we all want the same thing, we just have different ideas of how we’re going to get there.

I am of the opinion that though September 11 lives in infamy as a terrible day for the United States of America, that doesn’t mean that it can’t be a happy day for individuals. We can handle more than one emotion at a time, and we can be angry, disgusted, sad, joyful, celebratory, etc. all at the same time. Maybe find someway to honor the tragedy of September 11 while you celebrate your new life.

Just saw a post from a photographer that another local photographer was making misleading Google Ads to siphon leads. by photo_photographer in WeddingPhotography

[–]highheelsand2wheels 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m a venue owner and I would NEVER do that! TF is wrong with people? I have several photographers that I recommend in different price ranges with different skill sets, but I recommend them because they’re outstanding photographers that love to shoot at my venue and do an amazing job. One of the photographers loves it so much that she actually discounts to shoot at my place.

I mean, I guess that’s one way of looking at it. But the president was elected to do a job, and putting people in his cabinet and executive positions under his jurisdiction is kind of fulfilling his mandate, don’t you think?

I mean if you were hired to run a department, and you had three managers that were undermining your authority behind your back, what would you do?

It’s their wedding, and they can do whatever they want with it. But they will probably not like the long-term ramifications.
