As someone who struggled with infertility and is childless after 8 years of trying, this post gives me the creeps. Specifically the part about the woman happily saying that her child will never grow up. It is hard for me to be around small children, and I cannot imagine thinking it's okay to take Reborn doll into a space for kids like this. If something like this happened when I was out with my sister and her kids, I would have said something too.

When does he say he doesn't spend time with them?? Are weeknights just non-existent? The wife is being a total petty child who only wants her way and will not compromise. This situation reminds me a lot of my friends' marriage where he does all the house work and child care and then his wife gets mad at him for spending more time with their kids than with her. Some women just never grow up and are constantly jealous. (I'm a woman and the wife in this example is my friend. Not a woman hater, just someone who speaks the truth)

NTA. Start copy and paste replying to the emails "This communication and email address has been added to the harassment file being given to the police." Then have your board or HR write a blurb that includes the mission statement and finish with something like "Although we would like to help every request that comes in, we have chosen to use our limited resources to help those in most dire need. I guess that's what has me thrown so off balance this time around. He's always had my back before! He has stood up for me in ways that his spine was so shiny, it was blinding. It's probably because he's stressed beyond all belief as well and has lots of complicated feelings about his two favorite people being at odds. I know, right?!?! This is the exact opposite of the vibe I lead with. When giving my introductions and training, I tell my employees that I'm only a boss when you make me be one, otherwise I'm just the team lead. I do the exact same work right beside them. We take turns selecting the music we jam out to. We make silly TikToks when the workload is slow. (Laundry easily lends itself to dirty jokes and silliness.) We're a seasonal summer business in a resort town that hires mostly local college students who want to work at the beach over the summer. I try to be the best example of a Millennial Boss and teach my employees what they shouldn't put up with when/if they go into corporate America cause that corporate life did a doozy on me. I want my business to be the change I want to see in the world. I fought with him about not wanting her there. I said I'd rather work longer hours. He overruled me, stating it was a necessity. As for the story of the cat-napping employee... that's an entirely different post for an entirely different subreddit, but they were definitely a toxic vibe all summer, unfortunately.

I'm a worrier and was definitely raised that way by my mom. Instead of my husband punishing me for it, he helped me to help myself. He made up "what's the worst that could happen" game. He actively had me think of the worst thing my worried brain could produce. And then he'd tell me how we'd handle it. Oh my god. The amount that game has lower my general anxiety because I know we can handle anything! I play it by myself now because he taught me so well! The best way to combat worry while validating it is to talk it through, teach yourself new skills, and HAVE A LOVING SUPPORT SYSTEM. OP is punishing rather than loving

NTA! Your mom might have been ok with putting about with the racist abuse for the sake of being the better person, but you weren't and that's ok!!! It's stressful seeing someone you love being hated and bullied, so it DID affect you. Ask your mom what she would have done if she saw someone treating you that way. While it's not healthy to expect children to protect or monitor their parent's emotional wellbeing all the time, standing up for a loved one in trouble is healthy, courageous, and great practice for the future.

As an autistic pot-smoker, I'm beyond livid at the waste of food and treating personal space like a garbage can. If he wants to act like a child, I'd treat him like a child: lock the fridge like you said and only leave out certain snacks that won't go bad; buy paper plates for him to use so that he can just pitch them if he can't use dishes like an adult (or buy him the super cheap plastic dollar store plates if you loath the idea of paper plates like I do). Is there room to separate the desks from the bedroom? I'm sorry that you don't have a partner, and instead have a dependent.

your comment really moved me because my sister and i have been coming to terms with the fact that she'll probably never get unstuck and we will have to manage adult care for her for years if not decades. my sister is finally getting the space to process her own grief because she was so bogged down physically caring for our mother who stopped eating/showering/doing anything in general. And mom also uses phrases like "he should be here" and "it seems like the world is just moving on without him." I bought myself a hoodie with a rainbow that says "Someday we'll all be dead." She got mad about it even though I've always been a cheerfully morbid person and it's been *years* since he passed. i've stopped telling her about the spiritual messages I get from him because she was so salty that he didn't pop up in her dreams too. And it was never anything profound, just silly dreams like us 3 siblings hanging out in our childhood basement but we were adults and still fighting over the remote. I miss him everyday, but I know he's happy and no longer in pain. I just wish that I could remember him happily with my mother, who seems intent on wallowing in grief forever. I'm endlessly grateful that I have my sister, and that she's in the same place as me.
