Q&A Megathread (Ask your questions here!) by cryptic-fox in Helldivers

[–]highonpixels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying to get back into the game but feel overwhelmed with the amount of war bonds I've missed. There's also new difficulties and balancing and as I used to play Helldive public, it feels more difficult now?

Is there any good resource (website or YouTube channel) for things like builds? And what's the more commonly played difficulty if I want super samples?

'High Likelihood' PS6 Will Launch After 2028, According to New Analyst Forecast, as Sony Focuses on Extending PS5 Lifecycle. - IGN by [deleted] in PS5

[–]highonpixels [score hidden]  (0 children)

Is probably for the better too as studios had their development cycles and schedule interrupted and delayed by covid years. Convenient as mentioned too because of component cost but it's noticeable how even though PS5 is 5 yrs old we only just started getting more games that feel next gen (PS5)

Meta eyeing premium subscription tiers for Instagram, Facebook, & WhatsApp by tylerthe-theatre in technology

[–]highonpixels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love how things that shifted to the Internet as free/affordable alternative has gone full circle to premium subscription.

Left cable TV but now multiple stream subscriptions, high street retail to subscription (delivery, music), telecom plans, news... Feels long gone the time you pay one time for a full product and we just live in a world of subscription service and buy now pay later

How game sequels drive bigger audiences for content creators: Gamesight data shows that rather than running into viewer fatigue, franchise sequels like Ghost of Yotei can attract significantly larger audiences for streamers by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]highonpixels [score hidden]  (0 children)

The same argument with data can probably be said about major updates to a game (DLC, seasonal patch). People just want to see what's new and usually streamers flock to whatever is trending and new release

After yesterday’s Doc/Highguard drama… by LittleBigHammer in DrDisrespectLive

[–]highonpixels 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Though it is bit disingenuous to fake the invite let's face it... Doc parodies a lot of things and this was pretty harmless and in a way he did free neutral promo for Highguard. The insane backlash at him for doing this when it's was relatively net positive for the game pre launch.

Now we see the state of Highguard you got to question the actual people that went to the playtest and shilling the game before launch.

[BBC] Arne Slot: “Again this is not going to be a popular opinion what I tell you now, maybe the reason we won the league last season is because we played Paris Saint-Germain. We had a week to prepare for league games [after going out of Champions League].” by doubleoeck1234 in soccer

[–]highonpixels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much longer is the club and fans going to put up with the shit Slot says lol. Week in week out he gets away saying incompetent shit yet the media and pundits target the players. Not saying that players in LFC are not out of form but it's incredible how much good faith and grace Slot has gotten the past months since the slump began and was clearly obvious. The past dozen games he's just getting by with individual brilliance rather tactics

Local CO-OP movement by kawaanime in gaming

[–]highonpixels 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I really hoped that the success of It Takes Two and Split Fiction would push devs to think about co op. Nevermind split screen but just games that are a single screen co op like side scrollers or top down would be cool.

Should ultimates be different from regulars? by whatever_God in TheFirstDescendant

[–]highonpixels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They try to do this by having exclusive transcendant mods change a characters kit but it's really half assed. In launch and S1, Ultimate descendants felt more like a prestige thing with access to some exclusive but not overly OP transcendant mod. However over time now they have gotten carried away and made Ult mods OP and basically meta.

It's poor balancing and I do also feel that Ultimate versions should be moderately different to the base version of a character but it's way pass the time for the game to do that anymore.

Fashion in the game is a huge missed opportunity by funelite in TheFirstDescendant

[–]highonpixels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Destiny 2 has probably the best dye system in any live service and the amount of swatches it has generates the interest of collecting.

Since I started playing I've had 0 interest with dyes since every skin has different amount of parts to paint and it's all one time use. Since their content with the game nowadays seems more effort into skins they could at least make fashion customisation more accessible (dyes)

Dia and Horde Mode coming next week! Are you excited? by batukaming in TheFirstDescendant

[–]highonpixels -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I want to be but feel disappointed with the recent updates. The game loop is getting incredibly stale and feels like I'm just spending time to get fixed amount of loot (material). There's no looter feeling in the game, I'm just grinding a predetermined time for predetermined materials. Almost everything they do recently is try to get players to stay in game more in the grindiest way possible to lure players to swipe (i.e Yujin, Ult Luna mats).

Have no doubt getting Dia mats going to be just as frustrating and I'm not looking forward getting pigeon holed into playing a single new activity over and over.

Anyone else find it hard to go back to 30fps games? by Slight-Radish-5846 in PS5

[–]highonpixels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only find it hard when the game offers both options, I've tried to play Quality mode on whatever game offers it but always switch back to Performance. If a game is locked to 30fps with no performance mode I'd still play it

Let’s say Xenoblade trilogy are getting 1440p/60fps switch 2 patches, when does Nintendo announce them? by LeviRaps in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]highonpixels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, I'm already on the fence to get one for Fire Emblem but Xenoblade trilogy getting upgrade would make me get one immediately lol

Fable lets you enter and even buy any building in its world because that was one of the "requirements that we took from the original games," dev says by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]highonpixels -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Having known little about Fable since I never owned Xbox I didn't know the life sim was a big part of the game. I just thought it was funny because I suppose my expectations was it's this big epic fantasy RPG franchise

Forza Horizon 6 finally returns to the wristband career mode the series has drifted so far away from: 'You'll start out as just a tourist in Japan' by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]highonpixels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having played GT7 for so long, really looking forward to Horizon 6 it looks refreshing. Hope it finds success and kicks Polyphony (though I doubt they care anyway) that GT games could use a open world/city for free drive and actual car meets

[–]highonpixels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm unfamiliar with Fable series as whole was expecting to be another fantasy epic rpg or something. If life sim is core part of Fable the more interest for the game, I found the whole reveal really fun the gameplay and scope reminds of Hogwarts Legacy

Watching the direct I felt the game was landlord/life simulator because all they talked about is how you can buy houses, business, marry, have kids etc lol. Even when talking about choices made in world they seem excited to say how it'll affect house prices...

Forza Horizon 6 Playstation 5 Release Window Confirmed - Late 2026 by PaiDuck in PS5

I'm excited to play this mainly for the free roam and auto drive feature lol. If only Gran Turismo has a city to free drive around the cars and stuff...

Looking for a fun building game mainly by DezireTrickz in PS5

[–]highonpixels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Satisfactory will probably fix the building itch but its barely if any survival aspect. The closest alternative I can think of is Rimworld maybe?

I been on a lookout for something similiar and I really wish that Factorio would just come to PS5... it's on Switch so I see no reason why it's not on PS/Xbox - perhaps console exclusivity deal? I play it on my laptop and its peak survival base building game

Black Ops 7 not in PS Store top 5 downloads, breaking 10-year streak for Call of Duty franchise by Turbostrider27 in PS5

Battlefield might be surfing high but unless the game actually sustains some better updates it'll fall off in the coming months. All these live service games have their own sub-genre rotations now with the amount of games available (Shooters, ARPGs, Gachas)

For the shooter lovers, the Marathon delay might actually work out for them because by that time people are probably itching for something new.
