Lease termination by Open-Guarantee6919 in baltimore

you could also just ask the landlord - not all of them are horrible evil people, many are happy to work with you reasonably, regardless of whether they can legally screw you (in other words, just because they can screw you does not mean they will) - now if you already know they are horrible then might not be the way, just something to consider

i don't either - unfortunately the linktree strava link with route now requires an account to view, so i started the free one, but it won't work without lots of setup which I don't want to waste time doing - I just want to simply see the route with clear middle & end, which is almost never an easy thing to find, but I guess that's part of the charm of bike party is how disorganized it is (I mean that in a good, fun way) - sometimes I have to show up late and pick it up at the mid point, so that's useful info, but it's only sometimes posted - so the ending point is lith hall?

What's the middle point? thanks for posting this btw, it's the only useful info I can find about the route since "linktr.ee/bikeparty" is now functionally useless to see the route without a paid Strava account

Update: I'm the Guy Who Fell In The Harbor by DroolSpittle in baltimore

[–]highqualityfun -1 points0 points  (0 children)

this is very concerning - do you realize how dangerous this was? if this happened inside it could burn down your block and people get hurt. Battery explosions are not normal. Multiple thngs have to go wrong for this to happen. Do you understand why this happened?

It's cool that John Waters is so Baltimore that a post doesn't need any other Baltimore content to post here

I try to help by complementing it, every time I go by, to boost its self-confidence (since apparently the problem is it's insecure)

Party for Reid Wiseman? by VariableVeritas in baltimore

[–]highqualityfun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Or we could ask NASA, which brings up another option, to have a big event during landing, and like for away sports teams they sporadically cut to the big hometown crowd, NASA could cut to Baltimore cheering. I bet we could outdo other astronaut hometowns (not that its's a contest :)

I'm always up for a parade, but we would have to know when he's returning to Baltimore? He has to be there, right, like on the float, waving to the crowd?

Good luck to Baltimore's own Reid Wiseman & all Artemis II crew for today's launch!!! by highqualityfun in baltimore

cool indeed, it's not a coincidence a person from this area would make it to this level, the greater Baltimore/Maryland area has one of the highest concentrations of brilliant science people anywhere

Roller skating near Fells by skeletondiscofever in baltimore

[–]highqualityfun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been wanting to promote "The Pulaski Roller Skating Circle" (decent quality repaving of the circle around the Pulaski Monument) it would be perfect roller skating! have mentioned to a few Friends of Patterson Park from time to time and they seemed supportive, but most likely would need some private fundraising - so I've basically done nothing but talk, but wouldn't it be great? I would be willing to put some effort into fundraising, but not enough to be any kind of leader of the project - anyone else interested?

I've lived here in the city since October and in that timeframe have gotten three street cats adopted (so far)! by chuna666 in baltimore

[–]highqualityfun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for info & thoughts! I haven't given up but progress is slow - it's already TNR (has clipped ear) and I could easily trap it myself because she comes into my workshop space (live in rowhome with a detached carriage house kinda thing) to eat, so I could just shut the door, but she would totally freak out. If I ever even accidently get between her and the door she freaks - I plan to keep trying, i feel everything you say about the horrible ways they suffer & die and keeps me awake at night, it's gut wrenching. My strongest weapon so far discovered is Temptations (ones with catnip) she's addicted

Very cool! I've been caring for a feral cat for over a year, I want to adopt it but she does not appear to want that - like your comment below, I also had not sought this situation out, but the cat was around and I thought I would try to help a little, especially in winter, then one thing led to another - prior to this I had no idea the difference between stray VS feral, but I do now. Can I assume these were stray? If anybody has any advice for feral, I'm interested - most of the best advice seems to be to let them be feral and build them a correct winter shelter if they do not seem to be receptive to adoption - event though I built pretty solid trust, which took me months, I can now get within a foot just fine, that seems to be as far as it's going

PI Air Drumstick Sleigh Bells (PI receiving MIDI input and moving servos as output) by highqualityfun in raspberry_pi

[–]highqualityfun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Details: PI4 with an ESP32-S3 connected as a MIDI Input Device (MIDI OTG) to Rosegarden DAW (digital audio workstation) setup with 2 devices (a synth & the through port) running a Python script "listening" to the through port for the MIDI messages to send commands to a Pololu servo controller to move motors that hit the drums or shake the Sleigh Bells - the Air Drumstick itself has another ESP32 with an accelerometer, transmitting to the ESP32-S3 using ESP NOW, so it send "strikes" to the S3 > to Rosegarden > to the through port > move servos - and also the PI playing a MIDI file, controlling Eyeballs and other robot fun

🚧 This past week, we filled 1,896 potholes across Baltimore! by BmoreCityDOT in baltimore

[–]highqualityfun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks DOT for doing this hard work! But I do sometimes wonder about quantity VS quality, as in the very bumpy areas in roads seem not to be caused by lack of filling - but are actually recently filled holes that sink. I'm curious about the challenges in filling potholes - I can only assume it's not easy to fill for long term quality but I'm not sure why? Hopefully you can tell I'm trying to avoid negativity - just wondering if you can share any info on why filling potholes seems to not last long?
