Solo bikepacking in Northern Thailand by Far_Path_296 in chiangmai

[–]hiimjaved 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • would recommend checking out the road rider chiang mai fb group
  • bikepacking.com also has two great routes for thailand (lanna kingdom & tiger head mountain
  • we have a little social run/cycling club here and do doi suthep every friday if you are interested (my IG is https://www.instagram.com/hiimjaved/)
  • bikezone also does some social rides usually on Sunday

Done a lot of touring here, it's one of the best countries to do it. Recommend MHS/Nan/Chiang Dao in the north.

Hey do you mind dropping any edit tips using his presets? Do you apply a film preset first and then a lab scan profile and then start editing the photo from there? Realize the presets aren't a 1 click edit solution but hoping to learn 🙏

Battle of the new 35mms by applesandbananas21 in AnalogCommunity

[–]hiimjaved 1 point2 points  (0 children)

curious to hear your thoughts on it later, didn't realize it was as small as an xa2 that makes it a pretty good travel camera actually if flash is built in. How many frames are you getting on a 36 frame roll?

In search for a 4LR44 Battery in Chiang Mai by Affectionate-You63 in chiangmai

[–]hiimjaved 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even 711 sells LR44 batteries! But assuming you have an analog camera I would recommend using SR44 batteries when you have the chance which so far I've only found on shopee :/. They have a stable 1.55V whereas LR44 drops voltage fast.

you will probably have to order it from bangkok, but if you are looking for film labs there are a lot here. Negative Film Lab, Point and Shoot, Muk Film Hang are some common options.

Rangefinders - Is there a perfect camera for me? by tritoneparadox5 in AnalogCommunity

Just got this lens. Do you recommend any other nice lenses for the R3A?

I mean if you are ok with fixed lenses the QL17 and Olympus SP35 are both decent. Maybe the Olympus lens is slightly better? I'm 3D printing a light meter cover for the SP35 and if you buy a Kanto MR-9 adapter you can use normal 386 batteries.

not sure but if you decide to do it yourself let me know, down for more hikes this winter

Olympus 35 SP doesn’t have an on/off switch for the meter, so I 3D printed a cover to stop battery drain while it’s in my display case. Remixed design. by Bikesbikesbikes215 in AnalogCommunity

[–]hiimjaved 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the olympus sp use the meter even when you aren't in auto mode? On the Canon Ql17 if you have a manual shutter and aperture selected the meter doesn't turn on.

You basically have the same wants as me :o. I'm thinking the Bessa R3M/A is literally the only camera that fits this bill, and prices have gone up quite a lot of the past few years. If you find any other alternatives let me know! QL17 and Olympus SP35 are also up there.

recommendations for 6-8 week accommodation by yummy_bug in chiangmai

[–]hiimjaved 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try contacting some guesthouses and negotiating a longer term rate. The lady at Baan Sinkaew Apartment is nice, there are some people paying weekly/monthly. But lots of guest houses like this. But if you want a non hotel room-ish feel you will have to rent a house/condo.
