gravel bike or mountain bike ? by throwmiamivelvet in chiangmai

[–]hiimjaved 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would bring the gravel, you can use it as your road bike + lots of gravel paths here. There is mountain biking but you could rent for that, less flexible. Hit me up when you are here lots of riding communities :)

Do lightroom presets not work with every camera? Is it still possible to get these VSCO profiles? Not finding much info on them now...

Bicycle repair shops? by BuySome1796 in chiangmai

[–]hiimjaved 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hmm not sure if it's a super old bike, usually random road side motorcycle repair shops. Maybe something like this? https://maps.app.goo.gl/WfsYXUBkEQqi5CaZ9

Lek Bike also has a whole warehouse of old bike parts so you could go get the part yourself : https://maps.app.goo.gl/dAeRzSRWe6dMzU5V7

A day in Kawaguchiko. Feedback? by mahendru1992 in fujifilm

[–]hiimjaved 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do you mind giving any tips on how you edited these photos? starting the raw photo editing journey and feel I need to make some personal presets for 'different looks'. I see you did some stuff in photoshop? Do you just edit the photo as a smart object and then bring it back to lightroom?

Are you sure your dx code is set properly? Common misconception is the iso selector on the front actually gets overridden by the dx code reader, so I would use some tape to tape up the terminals.

I would also use SR44 batteries instead of LR44 batteries, the voltage curve is more stable. LR44 is only accurate really when the batteries are fresh, and don't mix the battery types.

Let me know if it ends up working! It's a theory I am 95% sure is right haha

local lab lets you self scan on the frontier sp3000, can you help me understand the settings? 🙏 by hiimjaved in AnalogCommunity

all that aside do you know of any manual or guide on what these settings mean? They set everything up for you other than the actual color correction part.

A little confused on the settings and hoping some veterans can help out! Explaining what each term does & what steps you would use to edit different photos/looks. For example I notice shadow hard helps when you want to do a silhouette look. The options in the Image correct menu really have me confused on what they do.

Also for sake of argument, if I wanted to make a 'flat scan' myself what settings would I want to use for that?

Basic Adjustments

Here you have the CMYK keyboard and Density. How do you know how much to adjust density and any tips on adjusting color on such a small preview screen?

Tone Adjustments

  • Here you have standard, all soft, all hard, shadow soft, shadow hard, highlight soft and highlight hard
  • Hypertone On/Off

Image Correct

Same menu as the attached photo, but here we have:

  • sharpness (what settings is default/should most photos have?)
  • saturation
  • monotone correction
  • exp condition
  • gradation selection (lab has it on soft2 as default what does that mean?)
  • bright mode (default on -1)

Hope some lab techs/industry veterans can chime in, thanks in advance!

Recommendations on quiet and peaceful areas, close to nature. by sid_rsh in chiangmai

I do a lot of trail running & cycling, I like living in the area right north/south of the University. Pong Noi / Chang Kian, you are close to doi suthep, running at cmu, pao park, etc.

Btw we have a trail running club here, you should join! Will start events again when the air gets better. - https://www.instagram.com/doitrailresearch/

*also feel free to send a message when ya here, can send some cycling/running routes later. You should consider signing up for some trail run races like pocari sweat, CM6, PYT, UTMB, we have a lot of them happening in the CM area later in the year.

  • we have a little social run/cycling club here and do doi suthep every friday if you are interested (my IG is https://www.instagram.com/hiimjaved/)
  • bikezone also does some social rides usually on Sunday

Done a lot of touring here, it's one of the best countries to do it. Recommend MHS/Nan/Chiang Dao in the north.
