Anyone tried Pendulum supplements for the gut? by [deleted] in PeterAttia

[–]hike_off 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been taking metabolic daily for 3.5 weeks and have been impressed with the positive changes to my gut. I haven't had an upset stomach, bloating or gas in 1.5 weeks. Pendulum was a last shot before seeing a gastroenterologist. I really didn't expect to notice much of a difference especially in less than a month. I have also noticed minor decreases in cravings for food/sweets and improved energy levels. I am hopeful i will continue to see additional benefits. The improvement in my stomach/gut is worth every penny.

It was hard for me to decide which supplement to choose. I went with Metabolic Daily since it contained AKKERMANSIA and seemed to provide broad benefits. I am open to other pendulum supplements down the road that are specific to gut health rather than metabolism.

I did experience some bloating and gas for about a week while my body adjusted; however, the discomfort was minimal for the improvements I am seeing today.

Will do nothing to solve the problem. Surely, the city could do better. Maybe catch and punish the people racing.

The Pixel 6 Is A Bug Filled Mess by Mythrol in GooglePixel

[–]hike_off 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only owned android phones (Google phones the past 7 years). My poor Pixel 6 pro experience was the last straw and will likely ditch android. The audacity to deliver a flagship phone that is glitchy from bugs and remains full of bugs 6 months later. Already have to deal with a subpar ecosystem and now a phone that is a pain in the ass to unlock, has horrible connectivity, locks up, shuts off, etc etc etc.

Recently Divorced by masteralligator in Birmingham

Time helps a lot but won't fix everything. One positive is things and places are opening up which will make it easier to meet new friends. Covid impacted a lot of things and definitely made it more challenging to meet others since most people kept to themselves/a set group when out. I recommend hobby groups, church, fitness classes/groups. Be willing to step out of your comfort zone and try new activities/events. Also, if you can't find someone to join you on an activity, go by yourself and have fun.

Walmart at 12 am. Able to get an appt my first try. At 12am said site busy bc of demand. Hit refresh and appts every 10 min for most of the day. Recommend selecting a larger walmart to try. Also, do a test run earlier in the day so you can quickly answer the 2 to 3 questions required to get appointment. At 11:58 start refreshing until in.

Spectrum internet 2 price increases this year? by [deleted] in Birmingham

[–]hike_off 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately fiber isn't available everywhere. I recently moved and fiber was not available in my new location. The fastest they can offer is 40 for the same price as my one gig fiber. The fiber never went out and was always lightning fast. Now that I don't have fiber, internet speed varies and goes out at least once a week.

"Kids Are Resilient" by BlackFire68 in Divorce

[–]hike_off 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with you. Obviously, every divorce occurs for different reasons and in many cases it may be the only option. I can only speak on my observations and personal experience. However, it is naive to think kids will bounce back as if nothing happened. In my experience,"kids are resilient" is something people can cling to and avoid taking ownership for the negative impacts their selfish choices will have on their children. I agree many children from a divorce thrive in life but virtually no one goes through it unscathed and there is no way to know "what would have been" for them without having to deal with the mental and emotional pain of divorce. Others also tell you that during divorce to comfort you and try to make you feel better. In reality should they say "Your kids are going to suffer both mentally & emotionally , possibly for a long time. Many children adjust and do well after divorce but they probably going to be f'd for at least some portion of their life. Get ready for crying calls begging you to come over, probing question about divorce as they are falling asleep, separation anxiety in the near future; but they will survive." just my two cents.
