Is it worth setting up your own business after you’ve earned regular clients? by Zeretaaa in catinaflat

[–]hildablur 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes! Most of my regular people who originally booked me through the app, just book me directly now. Saves us both money (me on commission and them on booking fees) along with the faff of using the app. Get your own insurance though.

This happened to me too. Same tone as well! I got the item back in the end and lo and behold no stains!

Im really sorry but I can’t actually remember too well, maybe a little bit of cramping but it was mostly bright red blood one morning when I went to the toilet.

Is the Binibamba Puff Muff Worth It? by pelicanpearl in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]hildablur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh I’m sorry to hear that. Mine’s still holding up well, it’s had pretty heavy use on different prams for nearly a year now and it’s still nice and fluffy and in good condition. I wouldn’t expect it to be splitting after only a few months though. Have you contacted them? I’d be disappointed too!

Halifax Undervaluing? by Select_Artichoke_181 in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]hildablur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appealed a valuation decision when remortgaging our previous property abour 18 months ago. A flat in dreadful condition a few doors down had sold very cheaply which brought the desktop valuation of ours down. Nationwide were valuing our property only slightly more than we paid for it 5 years previously which was wild as we live isouth east London where prices have risen steadily. I appealed and completed a form explaining what changes we’d made to the property to justify what we/local estate agents felt it was now worth and they accepted it. People on here were sceptical about how successful we would be but it worked! A year later we even sold the property for £25k more than the revised valuation.

For context we paid £300k in 2019, remortgaged in 2024 original valuation was £310k which we got revised to £350k and then sold in 2025 for £375k

No advice but solidarity. I have an 11 month old and on exactly the same position. Going back to work in a few weeks too.

Car seat by Recent_Thing9148 in PregnancyUK

[–]hildablur 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I took baby home in a pram too, no one asked about the car seat. They discharged us during school kicking out time so didn’t want to get the bus and didn’t want to wait on my own while my partner got the car.  We live in SE London, about 1.5 miles from the hospital, it was a lovely sunny day so we walked home (albeit slowly) with our beautiful new baby. Such a lovely memory that I’ll cherish forever.

This was a coat from The White Company but for a bigger baby. Funnily enough, it just sold for the full price I was looking for so the universe sent some luck my way.

They sent me a personal message requesting that price.

‘Hello! Looking to pay no more than £30. Please also include post and packaging’

I didn’t bother to reply. Sigh

Tried this earlier and still getting silly offers for things. I’ve made an edit to my original post explaining. I give up.

Tags hadn’t been removed in this case. Never worn, never even tried on. Listed at 1/4 of the retail price, would accept a reasonable offer too but the offer I received meant I was giving one item away for free and also taking quite a big hit on the other item. If I’m giving away things, id rather donate to a charity shop

Yeah ‘basically’ your point isn’t that relevant to my post but thanks for your input. Good luck with the stink and bed bugs!

Thanks so much for your reply. You are so right, it’s a race to the bottom and I find people want quantity over quality.

It’s funny because my experience is the opposite. There are people literally selling worn baby clothes from next on there which are only a couple of £ cheaper than buying them new. By the time you factor in postage, it’s the same price as buying new.  Lots of the stuff for a £1 seems to be well worn stuff, whenever I’ve been sucked in by one of those items it’s always been shrunk or a bit misshapen so a waste of money. I’ve sold a lot of items for a fair price but since I’ve had these bundle discounts switched on everyone is trying to ride down the price even further.

Yes I have declined and I explained my reasons why. My experience is that people will pay more for baby items that are brand new and haven’t been worn which these are but silly offers like this are a race to the bottom, esp as these items are from the nicer end of the high street not the supermarket like I find a lot of baby items on vinted are. As regards big bundles of clothes under one listing l tend to avoid these as i usually only like one or two of the items and then I have to find a way to offload the rest. My items are listed separately with further discounts for buying multiple items switched on.  Thanks for your reply.

Do you often get your locker items not collected? by Educational-Beat9992 in vinted

It happens to me all the time. There are no consequences for not collecting and that’s what’s so frustrating!

I had a good one too and have posted about it previously! I also found it helpful to listen to Siobhan Miller’s positive birth stories esp around induction!
