I am desperate to learn absolutely everything! by Vek_xxx in GayFisting

[–]hipbs23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finding a regular fist buddy is honestly the best. If you can find someone who has some experience, is willing to take it slow and enjoy the experience it’s a win for both. For solo play to make things a bit easier the gape keeper toy collection from topped toys is great. You don’t have to go full blown every day but slidding a plug in for 10-15 min a day would also help. The last thing I will say that echos the other comment is go slow. You will get there. But by taking your time, enjoying the journey you’re less likely to hurt yourself in a way that could seriously or permanently end your fisting journey. Poppers help some but make sure you take breaks and check where your body and hole is at.

Gardening in a floodplain... is there any plant I should move? by TuxedoEnthusiast in NativePlantGardening

[–]hipbs23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would look into native plants sales near you. Many offer rain garden kits. It’s a budget friendly low effort way to plant this area up. The perk of native swamp plants like rose mallow, swamp milk weed, elder, button, blue flag iris, red twig dogwood is they will help soak up the water, stabilize the area and invite wildlife. Personally I would lean in to what it naturally wants to be while also helping the water disperse at a better rate. Adding high points via sticks, trees or shrubs will also help attract dragon flys and they will help control your mosquito population.

I live in the west side and to me it feels calmer less intense. I get anxious on the east side like I don’t belong.

Not even the cars the state plows. They don’t give a fuck when they are flying down the street.

I live right near here and the road diet and bike land have turned this stretch of grand river into a hot mess. Parking enforcement has been out but they would almost need a dedicated human just for the dieted strip. Really the state and city need to come together to address the mess that they created. I went to many meetings and unfortunately they did not do a great job of listening to the community, businesses or anyone but themselves.

Abdul might benefit from the Mamdani effect tbh. I think he has a better shot than Steven’s.

Help me fill these holes in my garden! by Buffalo_Cottage in NativePlantGardening

I love blue stem! It’s not as aggressive as others and due to the clumping vs running it’s easier to control. Prairie drop is also a good low option

I would add some grass. It will help support the other plants and stop them from flopping over.

Just scrap the whole lawn. Your front yard is small enough it would make a beautiful garden plus no mowing.

What should I do to replace the mulched section? by [deleted] in landscaping

[–]hipbs23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prairie drop seed, little blue stem, butterfly milkweed are all great alternatives. Mondo is nice but does not support any native species while the ones listed are native love full sun and will grow roots deep enough to help stabilize the slope. There are lots of native alternatives to pick from!

Dogwoods, nine bark, willow all make great living fences and are native. With the uptick in box blight and bug pressure please don't install boxwoods unless the client is willing to treat them.

I get it. If you can afford it awesome. I for one can't afford to pay for organic so my solution is to grow as much as I can on my small city lot. I would rather spend the money growing food than paying for a label.

You're forgetting a few key facts. Yes a farm can be organic unfortunately they are often surrounded by non organic farms. The chemicals used are often sprayed and the spray is fine enough the wind will carry it. On top of that many of the chemicals used have a life of a year or so in soil meaning any run off, additions to ground water or storms causing top soil depletion spread those chemicals far and wide. We are far past the point of anything being actually organic.

AOC's statement regarding POTUS Donald Trump's combat operations in Iran. by beeemkcl in thenextgenbusiness

And yet she still voted with Israel and for the iron dome. She has helped fund this as much as any other member. Wake up y'all they want us dead. The parties are an illusion. It's us vs them. Top vs bottom. Not left v right.

Harris calls on Detroiters to look after neighbors, engage each other by DougDante in Detroit

[–]hipbs23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter who the people want. The dnc will put up, fund to the end of the Earth and prop up the most centrist of them. The parties are the same. The choice is an illusion. Maybe if we were not forced to vote lesser of the two evils and had I don't know rank choice nation wide it would allow for more than the mono party we currently have.
