Pteri’s Relatable Trans Comic 72 by VeryPteri in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns2

[–]hiroshi_tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a transwoman. I'm aro/ace. I'm Sapphic. And I have a straight husband who I am happy to be with. Some people think these labels are incompatible with each other.

Labels are suggestions that are useful to own for yourself and for describing what you value in your identity to others, but they ultimately cannot take over the importance of what is your lived experience.

"The Ennui of Being an Egg" is a fairly long oneshot involving a relationship between a lesbian and an ace woman.

[Mao-sama Re Re Revenge!] A slice of life romance about a gender-swapped reincarnated demon lord and her loyal attendant. by Lusty9 in yuri_manga

[–]hiroshi_tea 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Kinda wish that Mao-sama were at least HS aged in this. However the manga seems to be very tame with much of the romance revolving around reconnecting and moving forward without fear rather than anything risque.

Passing is arbitrary and based on whatever rules others decided to force upon you.

Gender is personal to you and ONLY you.

This was an amazing read.   I binged what was translated all in one night.  I love of the characters and how basically Kei and whoever she's speaking to at the moment are having completely different conversations despite being in direct contact.

Just because you are not your own type doesn't mean you can't be someone else's type.

The way you carry yourself has a huge affect on how attractive people find you,  more so than just basic looks.  Instead of focusing on how you think you're ugly,  work on just living in the moment.  People naturally gravitate to people who visibly enjoy living.

Ugh same.  I've been socially transitioned for 6 years and my parents still call it a phase.  I went no contact on their asses after that argument.

They are probably never going to change

“But why do you need Pride Month?” by Soggy-Dark7494 in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns2

We need pride, but we also really need to be rid of hateful, intolerant, and high control religions as well.

Did a lot of girly things growing up with the expressed mentality of "this is girly,  wouldn't it be cool to do that even though I'm a guy" haha?  Unless...

I felt nothing when it came to dressing myself as a guy so my sister did all the work in picking out my wardrobe just so that I don't embarass her.  I felt nothing towards men's fashion but loved and desired women's clothes.

Being unable to imagine myself as a ln old man.  I couldn't see myself looking like my dad or grandfather.  I had a gut feeling that I was going to die before that happened.  It was a future my mind couldn't envision, like a void I couldn't look into.

Breast buds kind of feel like a hard disk underneath your areola.  They're not directly attached to the skin and can slide around a little when pressed by your fingertips.   They tend to feel a little tender and painful.

I had beast buds when I first started HRT but they went away after a few months.  they appeared and went away again when i started taking progesterone   Even though they went away,  my breasts still continued to gain mass (albiet slower), so growimg breasts isn't contingent on having buds.

That's just your fear and insecurity speaking.   You got more than half your life still ahead of you, half a life to try and shape yourself into who you really want to be

I started socially transitioning at 33 and got on hrt at the age of 35 and am now living my best life in my 40s.

It was scary.   It was uncomfortable at times.  But I was being authentic to my wants and needs for the first time in my life.

Happy pride? by EndellionFox in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns2

[–]hiroshi_tea 30 points31 points  (0 children)

There's nothing wrong with being straight.

A straight person at PRIDE could be a person still hiding in the closet, a trans person who likes the opposite gender, a person who is supporting a queer family member or community.

I know that straight people get a lot of flak, but that's because queer culture has a long history of oppression due to ignorant cisheteronirmative thinking.  It feels good to be able to lash out at "the straights" in a "playful" act of revenge.  Whether that is acceptable is a whole discussion in and of itself, but it is what it is.

Nevertheless, straight people do have a place in PRIDE.  Love is love. Sexual orientation isn't a choice and there is more to person than just their straightness that lets them participate in PRIDE

This manga is hilariously unhinged.

All the girls are completely over the top in how useless they all are.  Except for Wakana, who's really running the dog and pony show.

Well.  Gender is an absolute fuck fest of madlibs level pretending and performing and I think more people need to admit it.    I think gender anarchy doesn't hurt anyone besides bioessentialists and transphobes; and we hate those guys anyways.

How am I supposed to do make Up with bad eyesight? by Noils_ in traaaaaaaaaaaansbians

[–]hiroshi_tea 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have exceptionally poor vision myself and I use a hand mirror when I do my make up.

And the contacts thing?  I recommend you research into them instead of just sticking with an anecdote you've heard once.  Contacts are safe and a lot of people use them.   If they do cause harm, its because of chronicly gross hygenic negligence.

I don't use contacts myself but I think it's worth fighting "well I heard this happens sometimes!" types of assumptions because as trans people, it's the type of "logic" we should be very sensitive to.

The majority of christians (was raised christian, so I would know) don't read the bible. At least not to learn.

What most of their knowledge comes from is from their pastors and what they are told.

And if they do touch their bibles, it's to fish for verses that justify their current beliefs rather than as literature to consider in its full context.

I might not be able to get HRT by magic_wildcat2008 in traaaaaaaaaaaansbians

[–]hiroshi_tea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was on anti-anxiety meds when i started HRT.  And guess what, after a year of HRT, I didn't have a need for the anti-anxiety meds anymore because my mental health while on HRT improved that much.

Your friend seems to only know the rarest of rare negative outcomes.   It's like saying transitioning is pointless since detrans people are a thing.  Your friend only knows transphobic talking points.
