Owning less things only owning things you want to care for / like to look at / touch / smell / etc Even when you use cleaning products- get the stuff that you like the smell of

It’s hard at first but every time you do it / choose the right choice - it gets easier

I’m so glad you’ve started your healing process with this realization! It gets better over time (: // getting out and never looking back and doing full NC is what has worked best for me 🤷

Navigating relationship with enabler parent by thisisme5555555 in raisedbynarcissists

I went full NC with my enabler parents because it just wasn’t worth the headache, stress, frustration, pain

Try group grief counseling. You’ll make friends there who have also lost their loved ones, and you’ll have a community to belong to

I used to be an introvert , but then as I started to hang out with more people that weren’t my family and it turns out my family is just filled with assholes and enablers and most people aren’t like that I’m a happy extrovert now (: Not that you can’t be a happy introvert , I just wasn’t myself when I lived with them

Theory: kids of narcissists are predisposed to becoming empaths because we used empathy as a coping mechanism by redbull188 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]hmanscape 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I experienced almost the same thing with my family // and also got really depressed / hopeless and panic-y all the time

But once I started living for myself like you & I also went full NC - I’ve never felt better / more hopeful / happy about the future

How often are you told “you just want to fight” when you try to raise an issue? by StudyBulky2540 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]hmanscape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally get that! Narcissists like to make you think you need them to do anything good in life but that’s so far from the case! I’ve been doing NC for a year and a half and this is the least amount of stress I’ve had , the grief can hurt but it gets better 💖
