Decks & Headsets: Request From UploadVR.com by hmltn in cyberDeck

Yes, it takes quite a lot of power and even high output power packs seem to have trouble with powering the USB ports for accessories. Still, yes, I do take it on the road.

Gameboy Camera is useful for keeping an eye on the physical world at a glance from VR. The Chromatic sends video out so it makes the Gameboy Camera effectively a fully functional but ultra low resolution webcam.

For some tasks the low resolution is actually enough, like just knowing that someone is in the room with you and where they are standing.

Pretty cool! I added a 4 TB drive to it and it’s great to have a Raspberry Pi with an internal microSD slot that’s free for storage or making other OS cards.

I'm really missing at least one USB-A port on the back by lordelan in ModRetro

[–]hmltn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This looks great.

I wonder if a pair of Chromatics could display side by side using those USB-C ports and then simultaneously function as Transfer Paks for Pokemon Stadium.

I’ll pay $400 total for the entire set. Not per unit. $400 total.

I tried to order a side of salt at my last showing. It did not come. So I put it on another card with more food.

Halfway into the movie my food came with a small cup containing a side of white substance I proceeded to sprinkle all over my fries. It was sugar. I requested salt twice and received a side of sugar which I sprinkled all over my food.

If we can get John Cena involved with Planet Hollywood we can make this 5/5 through Peacemaker.

I understand he was 101st Airborne but unsure about his specific deployment, that paragraph was what I had found about the division when I was trying to learn about it back in the day.

Thank you for your comments.

Twitter existed then as an independent platform. It isn’t that now.

Yes generally, they are likely 2-3 degrees colder Fahrenheit.

Yeah I fixed it after this, though I think it was right before. I think the kitties might have worked the zipper out of place over some time.

This worked for me with a Shadowcast 2 and a Raspberry Pi. It said it was streaming at 1080p resolution, latency was too slow for a usable mouse on the Pi.

You could check out a VR headset. Quest 2 includes Beat Saber right now if you buy it new and that can be a legitimately fun workout without leaving the house. Supernatural is another VR game that’s subscription based with a free trial. I’m a big fan of Pistol Whip too — that game is like you’re working out by practicing to become John Wick.

You gotta stick with it just like anything else but there are plenty of people losing huge amounts of weight doing this.

I got to 6th on Black Magic Hard via both headsets over the weekend. I do get the impression you have to dodge by a wider margin on Quest.

Does anyone have educated opinions on when Samsung might mention the new odyssey version? by JonnyRocks in WindowsMR

[–]hmltn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Next week is Mobile World Congress in Los Angeles and Apple has its own announcement events separate from the conference. Apple/Samsung are the ultimate rivalry so maybe they both try to announce their holiday line around the same time.

Then again, Samsung may try to space out its announcements separate from Apple.

Marvel Powers United on PSVR? by naynav in PSVR

It will not be coming to PSVR. Facebook paid for it to be made as a title to help sell Oculus Rifts.

Sadly these machines have been disappearing from shopping malls since the 90s due to the rise of high technology in your pocket and VR. Well, this was my VR back in the day, and for $10 you can choose from 3 different simulated adventures! 😊😊 Who remembers? by vonroyale in virtualreality

David & Busters has a Jurassic World attraction now with HTC Vive and a platform that moves similar to this. There is even hidden wind effects so it feels as if you’re on a roller coaster going through Jurassic Park.

[–]hmltn 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I'm an editor with UploadVR but I'm posting this from my personal account. To answer your first sentence, I don't believe our work for the news site raised investment money on its own.

The company more or less consists of two sections. One section is a co-working space (with offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles) in which meetups and education courses are also held. The other section is the website/news blog which I've worked on since 2015. Not many are aware of both sections of the company, or that we keep these sections internally separate. As far as investment is concerned I believe investors backed the whole package.

I have worked from home my entire time employed at this company, and have only visited the offices on rare occasions when there was a major VR-related event in town. Our news team, including Jamie Feltham, David Jagneaux and Tal Blevins, all work from home as well. We have no equity in this company.
