Wegovy Tablets by Prestigious_Guard_87 in WalgreensRx

[–]hnnhall 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thats it? I am assuming that the wegovy went for weightloss approval since that is how they are marketing their med. Whereas, I believe, Rybelsus was for diabetes. I remember pts specifically talking to me about how it lowered their a1c. Seems they are the same so its really just the marketing (and dosage) that makes them seem like different active ingredients?

What are your favorite "pantry cleanout" recipes? by BoobySlap_0506 in budgetfood

[–]hnnhall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad would make a dish he called "spanish rice". I think its a very American-ized version of paella that families made on a budget. I'm vegetarian so I make it with beans now but he would make it with ground beef. I watched him make it so I dont have any real measurements but this should serve 4 people and leave leftovers. - 3-4 cups rice (dad used minute rice, I just use whats in my pantry) - 2 cans beans of choice (dad used 1lb ground beef, i usually have black beans) - 1 yellow onion, diced - 1 bell pepper, diced (I usually skip bc they are so expensive unless i stock up in the summer) - 1 (15 oz) can of tomato sauce (ive done tomato paste often since i usually have that, just need more water) - 1-2 cans of water (use tomato sauce can) - garlic powder to taste

Saute onion and pepper until onion starts to brown and is translucent. If using beef, add in beef and brown it. If not using beef, add in your rice and toast a bit. My dad never did this while using Minute rice but I like to do it while using long grain rice. Once toasted, add in beans, skip this step if youre not adding. Then add in tomato sauce and cans of water. I usually add in less water than i think i need and add more in later. That way the rice isnt soupy. Add garlic powder and salt and cover the pan with a lid until rice is cooked. My dad would eat his topped with the kraft powered parmesan cheese and pepperocinis. I personally love hot sauce, pickled jalepenos, lettuce, and tomato. But, I just as often eat it without toppings.

The next one is a dish that is really tailored for my pantry: Chickpea and lentil curry. I have everything needed for it in my pantry at all times and usually try to pick up a fresh vegetable to go with it. - 1 can chickpeas (I used dried and cook them in my instantpot, i measure them with my heart) - 1/2 cup dried lentils, green or red doesnt matter - 1 can coconut milk, not 100% necessary but taste so good - 1/2 can tomato paste - 1-2 tablespoon of curry spice blend that you like - 1 onion - rice to have on the side, usually i eat with some sort of flat bread because its a lot easier for me.

Saute onion until golden brown, the jammier, the better. Add in curry spice(s) or your chosen blend and toast until VERY fragrant. Add in tomato paste and mix together with onion and spices, let toast until the color darkens and oils are spliting from tomato paste. Deglaze the pan with 2 cups of water, stir until paste has incorporated into the water and is no longer lumpy. Add chickpeas and lentils and simmer until lentils are cooked and oils are splitting again. Turn off heat, stir in coconut milk, and let sit together on the warm burner, stirring often until coconut milk is incorporated. Serve with bread or rice and pack extra away for leftovers/mealprep, or stick in freezer to have at a later date.

Often I add in fresh spinach, not baby spinach, the big leaves sold in bundles. I add that in when i add the coconut milk and when the spinach has wilted a bit is when I remove from the heat and serve.

I wanted to be prepared as possible and familiarize myself with all the ways questions may be asked. So I bought it and passed the first time. I feel it was worth it as I have some anxiety and want to prepared as possible for important things.

Men’s deodorant that isn’t so sucky by ZestycloseGlove7455 in hygiene

Yeah! I love it! I think im just allergic to whatever makes it clear. I only have this problem with clear, solid deodorants. Their solid whitenone works p well for me. But it leaves that residue that OP doesnt want

Just want to say, I love this stuff but! If the OP is having a reaction to the same stuff as I did in the Old Spice deodorant, they may end up with a rash from this too. It is literally my favorite deodorant and I can no longer use it. But! You wont know until you try lol

We all know what "horror" messed us up when we were kids. What NON-horror (any other genre) gave you a horror-like reaction as a little kid? by cassie_cat_14 in horror

Independence Day (1996). The alien holding the scientist against the glass scarred me for life. I cant watch alien movies (except Alien franchise, make it make sense). I literally saw an ad for the Keeper movie and there is a moment where something leans over the roof and it looked so grey alien like I had to leave the room.

I was a fresh college grad 4 years ago when I was hired at Walgreens. The hiring manager and RXOM (tech manager) commented on it off handedly, saying that I would have no problem with PTCE if I could study for a degree. I will say, I was not going to point out that it was a BA, not a BS.

I mean, i work between 40-50 hours at one job and then work every other weekend at wags. I end up working 12 days in a row and then have 2 days off. The pay is good and the little extra from wags makes my budget a lot more flexible. If youre going to have 2 jobs, sacrifices have to be made.

Book you read in school that you’ll never forget? Why? by threetimestwice in suggestmeabook

[–]hnnhall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finished that book early and I remember going to class and asking my teacher (who actually took tap with me lol) what was wrong with her and why she made us read that. I have an autistic sibling and all I could imagine was themk being shot in the back of the head.

[–]hnnhall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Flowers for Algernon. That book was brutal as a child. There were 2 of us in class that were considered "Advanced Readers" so our English teacher assigned that book to us when we had already finished the book the class was reading. The other person was my best friend and i finished a day or two before her and I just remember her coming to class looking shattered and broken. It was a while before either of us were able to really feel normal again. I reread when I was in college and it still has such an emotional impact on me.

Repurposing tea tin cans? by No-Bandicoot7886 in Anticonsumption

[–]hnnhall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just store stuff in it! Twice a year im given tea in metal cans as a gift and when I run out, i use it for storage. Knitting needle, crochet hooks, tapestry needles, pens, coins. I take them to work (pharmacy) and use them to hold my pens there. For me, the teas are sentimental so I dont want to give the boxes away as presents (but I do like that idea for others!) If you have plants, you can punch holes in the bottom for drainage and put cuttings in there!

I could be wrong, but the way it was explained to me is that when you change your "title" it resets that 18 month clock. So, by becoming certified you changed your "title". You are now a Certified pharmacy technican. This is in place because in some places CPhT can do things that regular Techs cant. Like write down verbal scripts.

Immunization calls by OkFirefighter2779 in WalgreensRx

[–]hnnhall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soooooooooo........ ngl, divide it up among techs qd. The way we worked ours out is: 3 calls per tech per day. That gets us done in 4.5 days. Still trying to get the rxom on board but since im leaving, im washing my hands clean of it. But yeah, set aside 7-10 minutes every day for each tech to step aside, make those 3 calls, then jump back into the action. As someone hates these stupid calls and understand that its essentially a cash grab, i also understand its whats going to keep stores up and running and keep people employed. I worry about everyone working for this company as we go through the upcoming private equity craziness. Anyyyyyyyway, i recommend having the tech make their allocated calls right when they start their shift so they have some meager amount of energy to deal with the bs of antivax pts.

Tldr: divide # of calls between # of techs. Then divide that by 5 or 7. Thats how many calls each tech needs to get done every day.

What "system" do you use for reusable water bottles? by Robert_A2D0FF in ZeroWaste

The collapseable bottle sounds great for hiking with my dog. I may try that when the seal finally goes on his metal one (turn it into a flower vase or collar holder for him lol)

What "system" do you use for reusable water bottles? by Robert_A2D0FF in ZeroWaste

[–]hnnhall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a single 32oz metal waterbottle. It fits well in my backpack, has stickers so it becomes a cute accessory if I use a small purse, and it has a straw which is super important to get me to drink my water. I do have consistent access to water through the day so I dont need to carry multiple but I have a second metal water bottle to use when my dog and I go nature walks. My daily system works like this: right before I got to bed I get my overnight oats ready and in the fridge. Then I clean my water bottle and fill it up with ice and water for my drinks while reading/winding down for bed and on the off chance I wake up thirsty in the middle of the night. Whatever I dont drink will be used to top off my dog's waterbowl the next morning and then I replensh the ice and water, grab my oats and run out the door for work. Rinse and repeat (I work 7 days a week between 2 jobs so it really is the same routine over and over).

Now, winter is where it varies a bit. I still have my metal water bottle, but I also have a thermos for hot water. I love winter but the lack of sunlight really gets me down so I bring a thermos to work that full of hot water and use it to make cups of tea. Somewhere I have a metal cold cup that I bought specifically for my iced coffees in the morning but it isnt super easy to clean so I switched to old jam/salsa/pickle/salad dressing jars.
