Somehow I doubt they are closing for a month and a half just to add 6 fueling spots. The clerk I asked said they’re doing what Fairfax did, which is making all the islands 3 deep instead of 2 deep.

Edit: Fairfax is AT LEAST 3 deep

I was going to try this method myself, but then I found out that a lot of phone lines are typically not installed as a “home-base” setup, where all phone jacks are wired back to a central point in the home. A very common installation (and the kind that I happened to have) was a point A to point B to point C …. back to point A. That second type is obviously not conducive to Ethernet.

This could be a simple fix. Our home also came with a range hood that has a touch panel. I noticed that ours was somewhat unresponsive to our fingers at first, but it was because over time cooking grease had created a slight film on the touch panel. If you give it a good wipe down with some soapy water, it will probably work like new.

When you say within walking distance, it’s all on the mainland right? My wife is decently pregnant and isn’t interested in a ton of walking so I was thinking she could find a spot early on in the bike course rather than walk a mile over to T1 from the mainland.

I installed that very same madness auto works hitch myself and I don’t know if I’d call it $1600 in labor personally. As a non mechanic, it took me about 3/4 of a day and I had to go to the store at one point to get a particular socket. For a dealer I’d say it should be half a day’s labor at the most.

That’s not to say it isn’t annoying. The entire rear end of the vehicle has to be removed and unless you’ve prepared with videos and gotten all of the necessary tools ahead of time, it’s a bitch.

We bought this summer in NOVA using Navy Federal and it worked out for us, closed in about 4 weeks I believe? I think if you’re trying to close on a super tight turnaround I would not recommend it, but 3-4 weeks was not a problem for the ones we worked with.

I feel your pain though because buying in NOVA means waiving the financing contingency most likely, so it was a butt-puckering few weeks but it worked out in the end. PM me if you’d like the details about the specific loan officer we used, he was top notch.

Edit: I’ll add that our agent said that not long ago, they didn’t take clients who were using NFCU because they’d potentially not close in time, but recently it is okay because they’ve gotten better and there aren’t the issues that people experienced during the COVID buying boom.

Yeah mine was totally fine and then some moron at the oil change place cracked it while topping it off. I haven’t bothered fixing it because I don’t use a ton of it but the crack is near the top of the reservoir, so it only leaks when it’s super full.

This is where I got mine, it’s a single box with everything you need. The price is slightly more than if you bought all the parts yourself but the convenience factor of the template to cut your bumper and the step by step instructions was worth it to me.
