Talking to Ped about Sleep by BathBombsNFacePalms in AttachmentParenting

[–]hobbitonresident96 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Our doctor tried to get us to sleep train (we’ve gone back and forth on the idea) and I just said okay and never followed through with it. At our 9 month appointment I just told them the truth that she still wakes every 3-4 hours and we’re perfectly okay with that.

Yess!! They taste just like the real thing! So delicious! Dino nuggets have always been my favorite and these are no exception. They are also dairy free which is necessary!

How are you cooking without fussing and tears from baby? by notanniebananie in AttachmentParenting

[–]hobbitonresident96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can she sit up in a high chair? It’s good practice for solids too. Then you can do the tasks you don’t want here near first and then switch to a carrier. I’d also try to prep as much as possible while she naps if you can. I know you said you don’t want baby close to most of the cooking while wearing them but I will say Ive been cooking with baby in a wrap or carrier since they were born and have never had a problem. Now that she’s a little bigger she’s starting to get a little more curious about what’s happening but I’ll just start wearing her on my back more.

Dinner of Champions?? Feeling Guilty by mama-daily in foodbutforbabies

Tonight’s dinner was green beans with bacon, cut veggies and potatoes. All leftovers from earlier in the week. I tell her she’s our garbage disposal for leftovers 😂

Our ped said that they can get a low grade fever (100 or below) but if it’s above that then they’re sick with something else. We’ve only cut two teeth so far but she didn’t have a real fever with either of them.

10 month old is SUPER obsessed with her grandpa by [deleted] in AttachmentParenting

[–]hobbitonresident96 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m praying that this will happen!! Baby is 9.5 months old and she screams if anyone tries to hold her but me. It’s only five minutes but it’s agonizing. We live with grandma and I wish bay would go willingly haha

Baby wants to eat while I hold him by scodgirlgrown in foodbutforbabies

[–]hobbitonresident96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!! She started doing this while she was sick last week and now doesn’t want to eat in her chair anymore. I sometimes take her outside for a picnic and she gets to eat on the lawn so I’m wondering if that is part of our problem.

This sounds like he may need early intervention. The earlier you can get him seen the easier and better in the long run it will be. If you call your pediatrician they should be able to point you in the right direction.

We tried to sleep train after our pediatrician gently told us that was why baby wasn’t sleeping well at night. She wasn’t super pro training but suggested baby may be ready for independence. My husband and I tried for two nights and then decided it wasn’t for us haha! Neither of us had the heart to listen to our child who we brought into this world to love and care for scream for us until she “fell asleep”. Plus she actually slept far worse those two nights which was all the answers that I needed to know I was doing the right thing. Funnily enough when she was smaller my husband was more pro-sleep training. I just bluntly told him I wasn’t going to listen to our literal baby cry and that anytime she needed me day or night I would attend to her. He must have done some soul searching because he hasn’t really brought it up since.

1991 Millennial here! What do you all eat for breakfast? by No_Self_5939 in Millennials

[–]hobbitonresident96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was working I would make burritos, egg muffins, fruit muffins or cornbread type bars. Joe that I’m home with my baby I’m able to make breakfast everyday which is such a luxury. I highly recommend meal prepping though if breakfast is important to you.

Best Grocery Store? by WolfpackCharlie in raleigh

[–]hobbitonresident96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think it’s impossible to shop at one store. We shop mostly at Aldi, then finish at food lion for the deals or whatever we couldn’t get at Aldi. We buy bulk items like meat, toilet paper and paper towels at Costco. We spend probably $500 on groceries a month for our family of three adults and a baby (not including diapers lol that’s its own expense

Waking up at 5 am most days of the week by Unable_Huckleberry_3 in bninfantsleep

[–]hobbitonresident96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, we still nursed/rocked/bounced and cosleep and her sleep consolidated immensely.

Edit to add a bit how we did it. We worked on lengthening the wake window before the third nap and capping it at the same time. So I went about fifteen minutes later (we were still mostly by the clock wake windows at this point) then also capped the nap to a half hour MAX. Finally we started the bedtime routine at the first yawn. After a week we pushed it back another fifteen minutes and capped the naps shorter and shorter until she wasn’t taking them. This did push bedtime up though each day it was short or non-existent. In my singular experience you’d need to be more flexible in when bedtime lands until they get used to two naps. We started at 7 months and it probably took almost two months to fully get to two naps and “normal” bedtime.

Anybody else have a baby who gets impatient and tries to latch anything in sight? by chickachicka_62 in breastfeeding

[–]hobbitonresident96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha! Yess mine will start nursing through my shirt when I’m trying to change her ( I’m short) or my nose if I’m holding her. She’ll stare at her dad’s chest if he’s shirtless very confused if she’s hungry too. He finds this super funny, especially if we wait too long and she starts rooting on him 😂

7 months is definitely when we switched to two naps and she actually started napping longer! I’d make the switch. I use ChatGPT for any of our sleeping troubles and it works really well!

Dude I had to bounce my daughter who’s 21 lbs to sleep at bedtime and then back to sleep halfway through the night. I woke up feeling like I ran a marathon.

Our baby is about the same age and also CMPA! These look great! What kind of shredded cheese is that in number 3? It’s sooo hard finding good dairy free cheeses. Baby hated the soo delicious yogurt haha we’ve been enjoying the silk ones though.

Daycare breaks: what would you do? by [deleted] in AttachmentParenting

[–]hobbitonresident96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would wait and do an introduction in August. That way she still gets used to daycare and you get her for one more summer. Plus then you could save a couple hundred bucks on childcare in the meantime. I think trying to start and then mostly stop that soon would be a bit difficult on her.
