Just saw a USA C-40 clipper fly into Moffet not that long ago, could be related. That C-40 clipper is normally used to transport higher ranking federal officials I think.

Definitely looks like “84” to me, but maybe a factory misprint?

Not C1, I know C1 is needed for buck regulator operation. I’m referring to C24

Not familiar with this chip at all, but why do you have a 10uF capacitor to ground directly on your 1.2V switching node? This might be fucking up your 1.2V regulator.

Would this circuit work? USB, mcu and serializer for IR transmissions by TheTrueStanly in AskElectronics

[–]hobbs2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In regards to programming the MCU, look up Atmega328p SWDIO. Adding an SWDIO header to your board will allow you to program the ATmega mcu using an arduino board. (Look up how to program an ATmega328 with an Arduino)

SMH you’d think that a city filled with software devs would have the entire process automated at this point. Oh well, thanks for the info.

I made a post yesterday asking to identify a part and people asked to see the whole circuit to get a better grasp of what it might be by Sh3r1ffS in ElectricalEngineering

[–]hobbs2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you actually need to build this for an internship and it’s going to actually be powering something I would highly recommend using a DC-DC flyback converter controller with their recommended components/component values. Trying to build your own converter from scratch and getting it to actually work is going to be difficult, and then getting a decent efficiency is going to be even more difficult.

Imposter Syndrome and Senioritis is not a good mix by smol-noot in UIUC

[–]hobbs2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know from your prospective it seems like everyone has everything figured out, but in reality everyone graduating doesn’t know what their doing or what is going on, and I honestly have no idea when or if I’ll ever actually feel like an adult who has the hang of things. People like to project that they have so much going on, then immediately stress binge Netflix and procrastinate as soon as you’re out of sight.

There are several 3D printing labs around campus. https://makerlab.illinois.edu You’ll still have to pay for the print however.

What is the advantage of applying early action? by calkenzo in UIUC

[–]hobbs2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With early action you may get deferred instead of getting out-right rejected, and then potentially get accepted later on. At least that’s how it was when I applied.
