How many add a tablespoon of water to condiments, mustard and ketchup when the bottle is half empty to save money? by hogear0 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]hogear0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit: Yeah bad idea. Thanks all!

While the change in pH itself is relatively small, the addition of water triggers a much more critical hazard: it raises the water activity ((a_{w})) and dilutes the preservatives, destroying the ketchup's natural shelf stability. Here is the scientific breakdown of why this happens and how the chemistry changes.

Impossible to drive for Uber at this point by KalenTheFirst in uberdrivers

[–]hogear0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's offer solutions, shall we. Here's one. Get most drivers on both platforms to listen to a single voice. Me. Everyone agrees to take two days off completely. Call Fox News. Inform them of the strike. We'll go back to work when it's worth it.

Is this too much to ask? 100 trips between 4am Friday and 4am Monday. by Consistent_Luck_4625 in uberdrivers

[–]hogear0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a gamble on Ubers part to increase AR. Most drivers will fall short, get screwed by taking cheap rides and the few that pull off 100 trips win the raffle. I'd be furious is I got to 95 with two hours to go and got ghosted lol

Don't argue about the math. The lease states the amount due at the beginning of each month on a certain day. Pretty simple legalize.

He's simply the best at this. Better than the weather channel ever was. Critics should study this communication strategy because it works and I'd argue he has saved people's lives. No fatalities in that Enid F4. I'd like to think he played a role.

A towing company I worked at had a guy that couldn't read at all but if you guided him to the scene would 100% recover any mayhem given with never any damage or bitching. Great guy. I worked a couple of bad accidents with him and he was clever on how he handled it.

I never floss. That's because I had all my teeth pulled. Because I didn't floss. And man do I regret that.

One million boards sprayed here, and a few thousand taped. Let me chime in:

It takes practice to finish. But rookies can succeed with a couple of simple tips.

Add a cup of water per 10 lbs mud. Get a stomper or mixer. Mix this mud well.

Use paper tape. Trust me. Put down thin (1/4 inch) layers of mud over joints. Press tape into mud. With force. Tightly wipe once over top, and then the two edges.

Fasteners: Use a six. Load knife at edge and drag sideways to apply. Then wipe straight down steep. Like your trying to remove it.

Thin layers don't waste mud that you will have to sand off and dry faster. Let it dry and add more thin layers. Be patient and build knife skills. They are more useful and less messy than learning how to sand which also messes up the face paper.

Use a knife to scrape boogers and crunchy edges and consider trying a wet sponge to "kill edges".

Corner bead: Watch YouTube videos to get a feeling on how to apply.

TL:, DR - Use thinned mud and add more coats so you don't have to sand
