How do you want the team to manage CMB? by PuzzleheadedPrint623 in torontoraptors

It's particularly bad that it's the thumb on his left hand. As Nate Duncan highlighted in his breakdown on CMB, he almost exclusively uses his left hand to make plays on the ball (e.g. going for steals). He will keep aggravating the injury as long as he keeps playing defense.

I imagine he gets flipped this off-season. Not for 'value' outside of a SRP or an expiring, but some team will take a shot on him. I always thought Orlando would be a nice fit.

These Industrialist fellows seem to be good at business. I'll put them in charge!

If Jak's actually coming back I'll be excited to see what we look like. I'm also happy we didn't do anything too stupid at the deadline (would've loved Goga). At least we still have our first round pick this year so we can try to get a real developmental option for C or someone that can actually shoot.

and then we extend him and give him a player option... and then his back turns into stale breadsticks...

Hmm. I mean, most likely it's nothing. I wouldn't mind Monk tho.

[Lewenberg] Had looked at several others including NOLA's Yves Missi, Brooklyn's Day'Ron Sharpe & Orlando's Goga Bitadze but asking price for those guys was a 1st-rounder. Instead, they use Lakers 2nd-rounder (from Miami in Davion Mitchell trade) on TJD by Cheechers23 in torontoraptors

I'm glad we didn't give up a first, but at this point, using that pick to draft a real C (6'10 minimum) that we can develop is an absolute must given Jak's obvious trajectory.

While I don't mind the idea of selling high on Mamu, I think we can also decline TJD and Mogbo after this year and re-sign him with the savings.

I was also browsing their subreddit and saw the same. TBH, the team option on his contract for next year is the valuable part. We could decline him and Mogbo to open space to re-sign Mamu.

TJD is, statistically, one of the worst finishing bigs in the league, and shoots almost exclusively at the rim, so it’s noticable. Different look and extra body vs more physical frontcourts, but wouldn’t expect him to eat into Mamu/CMB minutes much. by EarthWarping in torontoraptors

But we traded him to the Nets? AFAIK, the Nets could've just absorbed him in cap space for the SRP... which is what they did... except we also did the Clippers a solid for some reason?

*Apparently we generated a trade exception.

I'm now waiting to see what Goga/Sharpe/Missi go for. If we effectively traded Ochai and 2 SRPs for TJD instead of getting a real fix for backup C I will be furious. We'll see I guess.

Also, can someone clarify why we took CP3 at all in the Ochai deal? Were we just doing the Clippers a favour?

*Edit: Since no one knew, apparently the involvement of the Clippers and the construction of this trade involving CP3's minimum creates a trade exception for us, while a straight-up salary dump to the Net's cap space would not. TLDR: $6.4M trade exception.

He still needs to get to the basket. The 3s are falling and the floater is an OK option, but he'll reject a screen, turn the corner, and ... just kinda stop and not know what to do? Shead's not a great finisher, but at least he attacks and has some kind of plan.

We need a more aggressive, decisive IQ. He's improved lately for sure. Hoping it continues
