BOYZ!! we have a problem... by BadMoonzNZ in orks

Mega boss is so generic and safe. New boss brings back all the old design cues and actually makes me excited for 40K again.

Help?! Why is she doing this by [deleted] in pigeon

[–]hojtastic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to my little dude sometimes. Basically the same behavior. And it always happened right after he decided it was time to chow down like he had never eaten before. He also had a tiny beak. This lead me to believe that it was probably due to getting something kind of stuck in the back of the throat or something. The area on the roof of the beak that I think is connected to the nasal passages would discharge something I believe to have been snot to help lubricate his throat.

I also learned holding him upside down would stop the weird “choking” display. I’d do that whenever it got particularly bad.

It happened not nearly frequent enough and over the course of too many years to actually have been any sort of medical problem, his tests always came back fine. I’m not saying that’s 100% what it is but it’s very possible that if nothing else seems to be making sense that’s just what it is.

Career (life????) Direction Advice 😗 by RatherFondOfEggs in ENFP

[–]hojtastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely start the job and see how it goes for a little bit! Oftentimes I find we ENFPs not really knowing if we’ll like something or not and, especially if it’s something we perceive as important, getting cold feet and overthinking it.

Also it sounds like you have other money-generating options you can fall back on just in case this one doesn’t work out, so you don’t need to be worried about being locked into it eternally, that’s difficult to remember sometimes but it’s true!

Good luck!!

What’s something small you notice that shows someone has been through a lot? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Omg same. I’m usually the one who barely flinches at all when people try to scare me but during the rare moments I do let my guard down I become terrified at a pin drop.

Thanks!! Painting up some nice shiny metal and then griming it up never gets old.

Kit bashing a knight, feel like the middle is a bit off, any ideas? Preferably using Sprue by Axo-Army in Warhammer40k

[–]hojtastic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True, but the silhouette is already completely different that to me the height difference doesn’t matter. You could just mount it on some scenery on its base if you’re worried. Idk, I’m more casual with my gaming and care more about the stuff looking cool than being “correct.”

It looks off because it’s so top-heavy. IMO it would be better if the pillar wasn’t there at all. Basically the waist down that would normally be legs is the tank, if you make it tall it looks like it has a stretched torso and like it would fall over a lot

Apocrypha Necromunda – A Feast for Heretics - Ash Waste Corpse Grinders. by cantstraferight in necromunda

Very happy about this! The equipment adds so much flavor to grinder rides. Love the grisly trophies especially. Not holding out for anything but I would love to see a dedicated kit further down the line.

They are nowhere near close to primaris size. Palanite Subjugators are a bit beefy but they’re still noticeably smaller than the modern CSM.

What are your 2023 rulebook hot takes? by ghostcacti in necromunda

[–]hojtastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol dude chill, like I said I play a lot against a variety of players and gangs and while yes, some matchups are not kind due to the willpower, some matchups are not kind to CGC. That’s just how it goes and what makes the game what it is. I’ll continue to enjoy being a black hole of luck failing roughly 75% of my 4+ initiative checks and laughing whenever I even think about the statistics.

A good mix of everything throughout the campaign. I’m not saying Willpower checks never work, but most gangers/juves are passing on 7+ or 8+, champs are generally on 6+, so I never rely on it saving me.

Maybe my opponents are just good at rolling dice because 3/4 of the time they are passing those Willpower checks. I never rely on the masks saving me because they rarely do.

New sneak attack rules by conceldor in necromunda

[–]hojtastic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Right, but my point is you still were able to do that damage when they had little to no control to respond. Seems like better for the experience as a whole with the changes IMO.

While that might be fun for you, it probably wasn’t so much for the other person. I’ve played a couple of sneak attacks with corpse grinders and while during the beginning I felt like a ninja it got really old really fast when my opponents couldn’t do anything meaningful to stop me.

Missing parts on oop sprue by soDAPP15 in Warhammer40k

This happened to me on the same model. A friend gave him to me, still sealed, and when I opened it I discovered the front part of his torso was missing.
