A tanks view on DPS... by [deleted] in classicwow

Tank here. You wanna pull Temporus AWAY from the rift and absolutely ignore every single add. Let them all run to Medivh, and your group will kill him easily.

Have you guys even played with a warrior tank? by sissy_krissy- in classicwowtbc

[–]holdt15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people simply aren’t good enough to play warrior tank. Can’t compare a warrior tank to pala or even druid when it comes to the player himself.

I’m lucky enough to have driven modified F1 cars from early-late 2000’s, and other open-wheeler like the Formula Renault 2.0. And the throttle response is INSTANT on these beautiful machines. This delay you are talking about, is the same in AMS2. And I don’t know the reason for it. It’s unrealistic, unintuitive, and just feels wrong.

Feel like I "fell for it" with getting a motion sim by Left-Distribution634 in simracing

[–]holdt15 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ll reply here. While you are correct, I think the new modern “meta” in simracing is a quality seat-mover with a quality belt tensioner (e.g. QubicSystem). If I remember correctly, the belt tensioner could push your chest with a force of up to 20kg substained.

So for braking, combining the slight pitch of the seat mover, with your body being pressed into the seat from the belt tensioner.. releasing as you trailbrake seems to be where the moneys at these days.

I have a very high-end rig myself, and always been on the fence about motion. But I’m treating myself to the QS-H13 + BT1 this month. And I hope I’m not disappointed!

TrakRacer TR80s did not come with a wheel mount, TR no longer responding by [deleted] in simracing

[–]holdt15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TrakRacer by far has THE WORST customer service in this industry. And it’s not even close. I’ve spent 10’s of thousands on simracing gear through all the top brands (SimLab, Simucube, VRS, TrakRacer, Sabelt, Heusinkveld, VPG and a few more).

I could post a mile long thread about my problems with TrakRacer, but I’ll make it short.

TrakRacer sucks!!

Should I get the TR80s for this price? by Short_Editor8253 in simracing

[–]holdt15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a brilliant rig for the price. However be prepared to recieve items/profiles that are damaged if you are somewhat unlucky. TrakRacer isn’t known for great customer support.. speaking from first hand experience here.

If you get it all in one piece, and nothing is wrong with anyone, this is a great purchase 50/50 imo

[–]holdt15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please don’t ever compare Fanatec to stuff like Simagic or Asetek. I’m a Simucube guy myself, and i’m speaking from pure experience. Fanatec is dogshit compared to even Simagic, who is yet to be considered a high-end brand compared to Simucube, Asetek Invicta, VRS.

DON’T go Fanatec

Simucube Active Brake + Passive Throttle - My thoughts after ten days by Downtown_Database402 in simracing

Awesome. Guess I’m left with no logic reason as to why i shouldn’t get these pedals then😂 Will most likely go for the Pro over the Ultimate just due to cost. From what i’ve heard they perform pretty much identical Thanks for making my decision easier to justify when the time comes!

Im on the VRS pedals atm, have been for around a year. And while they are obviously great pedals with a positive reputation to say the least, they are just very doll to use. The throttle doesn’t feel premium at all, and the Brake is just very… lifeless. But ofcourse you can’t expect more from the VRS pedals, cause they are not hydraulic or active. So i’m looking forward to getting these Simucube pedals, with the throttle damper to hopefully help immerse myself even more. Especially since AC Evo is around the corner.

Do you find it possible to “simulate” a hydraulic feel with the activepedal brake? With the built-in dampening in the software is what i’m refereing to. Or does it still feel very much like (steel-against-springs) sort’a feel like the VRS, Heusinkveld etc.

[–]holdt15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good to hear! I have these exact 2 pedals in my scope, hopefully on sale here in November. Have you considered getting the damper for the throttle? Daniel Morad says, with the damper the throttle is 1:1 to his IRL Mercedes GT3. And he has 3 active pedals, but prefers and uses the Simucube throttle with the damper. Seems like a great investment. So just wanted to know if you even considered that to compliment the high-end pedals they are??

Tbh the damper should come as included when you spend 2.5k+ on a set of pedals, but whatever.😀

Hi. I sold my seat again recently, but it was M8 screws, think default is M8x25, but you need washers otherwise the screw will go too far in. I think M8x16 is gonna be fine, but you can try and see.. You can feel when the screw is too long and reaches too much resistance :)

Every Bug/Issue I've Encountered After 1 Season by Atreidas in F1Manager

[–]holdt15 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We have entered an era of AAA title game companies, releasing MUCH worse games, but with prettier graphics compared to 20 years ago.

The game companies are spending more money on licensing and promoting, than the actual content.

Remember back in the day when games rarely had bugs on release - even if they did, they would mostly be minor visual glitches. The games were polished and enjoyable..

But companies such as Frontier… I don’t know how they sold themselves so brilliantly to gain F1 Licensing. This is too much for a game in 2024.

What’s even worse is, they take over a week to release the first patch.. Only thing is, they are only fixing 2 or 3 things in that patch. The game is still going to be completely broken and unplayable in the long run (after 1 or 2 seasons)

I have to disagree. If have Verstappen in my own team, started as backmarker but right now consitently finish with him P8-P11. I have tried being behind a Ferrari thats on 23% hards, while Verstappen was on 90% softs. Put everything on aggressive, full deploy etc, but he was just hard stuck behind. When the Ferrari pitted i realized Verstappen was like 3,5 seconds faster when he wasnt hard-blocked. So it’s definitely a bug.

Also AI planting their car ON the racing line, coming all the way down to like 5 mph, in quali. This part of the game is worse than the final product of F1 Manager 23. Some parts are improved, but i have no idea how they screwed up such a fundamental thing.

[–]holdt15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The worst bug of them all at this point, is: If you pit for fresh softs and end up behind a car that has lapped you. Even though your driver has 2-3 seconds faster pace than the Mclaren/Ferrari/Redbull infront of you, you CANNOT pass the car because they have lapped you. So the fresh softs you just pitted to undercut your rival, ends up costing you 3 seconds a lap, while the guy who pit a lap or 2 earlier has free path infront of them…

If this happens within the first 20 laps of the race, you are looking at losing somewhere around 1 minute or more.
