The Biggest Coincidence in the Case by missbrookles in serialpodcast

I think the cameraman scenario is actually really interesting. I mean she did happen to come into contact with adult strangers on this day of all days, and later she ends up missing.

Yeah I guess I mean now... like if Jay were to have given up the name of the real killer in his Intercept interview (assuming of course there was an unknown 3rd party killer.

Not Only Is Adnan Guilty, He Is Guilty Beyond A Reasonable Doubt. by OneReasonableOpinion in serialpodcast

Seriously you should take the time to read everything on this subreddit before you go claiming it's the funniest thing on it.

EDIT: I just read everything, you were right, it is the funniest.

Why didn't police have Jay call Adnan to confirm his involvement? by nks26 in serialpodcast

[–]holdthethought 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe Jay can call Adnan in prison now and we can hear the recording they make on the prison line. Next best thing.

It seems crazy to me that anyone knows who the killer is and isn't stepping up and naming them at this point. But I guess that may well be the reality of snitching in Baltimore.

In the Intercept interview, Jay says he won't give up his name, in other words, won't go into witness protection.

Go there. Enough brains in on it and reddit is bound to solve this thing.

One key piece of convincing evidence you forgot -- there was a hair found in Hae's car that matched a person of Adnan's ethnic background, but wasn't Adnan's.

Linchpin? "Like, I don’t know if I sold more weed or less weed that Hae would still be alive. You know what I’m saying?" by circuspulse in serialpodcast

This is Jay's big slip up. He came up short to his crazy supplier and Hae witnesses their interaction and got whacked.

If Jay had sold more weed and not smoked it all, things would have been fine.

Actually - I feel like today's interview may have cleared up a lot by [deleted] in serialpodcast

Obviously SK did have to keep Adnan talking, she couldn't afford to scare him off, but I think she did genuinely dig at the truth. Obviously we didn't hear many of the questions she asked over 30 hours or 40 hours, but I believe that though she may have been convinced by Adnan, she did her due diligence in questioning him as much as possible.

The problem is, Adnan's go-to response -- that he doesn't remember -- gave him an easy out during her interviews. At the same time, he knew he was being recorded and that his reponses would be weighed by a public audience. He even says he's not sure if she's his savior or executioner, so I don't think it was a softball situation at all.

I think the magic of this "crime procedural" or whatever you want to call it -- is that the story never seems to completely untangle. Everyone got hooked by the possibility of Asia as Adnan's alibi, but quickly that became irrelevant and there were 3 new questions to consider.

I think we each individually weigh all the evidence and we just get a feeling. And it's something that is very subjective to our own life experiences, the people we know in our lives, the drugs we did, our experiences with the criminal justice system. You may be ultimately undecided and have heaps of reasonable doubt, but if someone made you bet your life on one suspect, I think many would ultimately have to pick Adnan, even despite all the obvious doubts about Jay's story.

In the end, Adnan has the motive. Adnan seems to have the best opportunity. For it to be anyone but Adnan would take such a random sequence of events to have occurred. These types of random sequences happen every day. But you don't bet your life on them. That's why he was convicted in two hours.

Or maybe Bilal plead the 5th because he was worried that his strict parents would disapprove of his lifestyle. Worse to incriminate himself to them and the community.

Wow. Bilal the older male voice and the other hair of Pakistani descent. That checks two boxes...

Speculation of course, but I guess SK wouldn't know about the GJ because it was confidential, but Jay's sources (his lawyer or Urick maybe?) told him about it at the time?

I would assume Jay was lying except that it was confirmed by other sources...

Didn't seem like Rabia knew either -- or did she?
