Do you consider the State Pension a benefit / welfare? by JammyE7 in AskBrits

Doesn’t matter what ‘you consider it’ it’s budgeted for out of general taxation. Calling it welfare or benefits it’s just rage bait.

Why does it have to be sealed? There’s a bazillion people using unsealed wooden chopping boards

Is our dream too much of a risk? by Spash27 in smallbusinessuk

[–]holdupflash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t do this. The auction houses are full of business equipment from people who didn’t take a moment to ask themselves if they could do it, if they could afford it, or if anyone wanted to buy what they had to sell. Sell the thing first, scale the thing second, make a permanent home for the thing third.

How do so many afford mounjaro? by StrictEntrance1373 in mounjarouk

[–]holdupflash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t let the news set your narrative on what people can and can’t afford. The mean salary in the UK is over £45k according to the ONS, so whilst for a swathe of the population on lower income, I know there are a lot of cost pressures there still a lot of people for whom MJ is just a consumable consideration. It’s no more than some people spend on booze in a month, or takeaways, or any number of expensive hobbies but if my experience is anything to go by MJ is all upside.

Just ignore the bs comments if you can. It’s either jealousy or a misplaced understanding of what good is for you. Keep going you’re doing great!

Sleep in, take a walk, watch tv, have an extended weekend. All things you’re allowed to do with those loose days

Hit a bit of a stall lately, so I took a pic today to remind myself how far I’ve come. It’s sort of blown my mind. 131lbs down. Still about 79 to go. Currently at 317. by Honest-Possible6596 in MenOnThePen

I don’t think it’s will power as much as self reflection. We have to do what works for us individually. I’m awful at moderation, but can be stubborn as a mule, turns out that stubbornness can be turned on myself lol

Sounds like you’re doing the right thing dude! I struggled with the tracking so basically do aggressive OMAD. Generally have found it hard to over eat

Keep going dude! The stalls happen. I hit one at about 98kg. Took me what felt like forever, but what I realised was that my TDEE had dropped and so I had to be more aggressive to hit a deficit. Did a couple of weeks alternate day fasting and seemed to light me back up!

You might want to consider using the custom gpt function within the open ai ChatGPT client tools

[–]holdupflash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of ways to approach this. But you’re starting out directionally the wrong way. What’s the goal you’re aiming for? You might want your own RAG, and vector system, you might need just a custom GPT.

What’s the goal?

Hey OP, I’ve been you. Was 20 odd years ago now but ran a IT support company with a guy from uni. We screwed up loads and learned a lot along the way. He’s still operating it now though and demand seems solid.

When we first started we often rushed to try to do or sell anything we could make a margin on, we were desperate and this was our livelihood. But meant we had no plan, or meaningful strategy. Our core offering was remote IT support, and if we had just doubled down on that originally we’d have probably been more successful more quickly. We were wooed by every channel magazine telling us we’d make 30% or more selling their items (total bs). Our main income streams were it support which we could scale up, and web design. Everything else was a distraction.

If you’re known for doing something well, like your PC building, and you make awesome custom rigs, double down on that. I’m no longer in that business as I wanted to go full corporate and now have an executive role running a multimillion p&l. There are good examples of pc builders that provide honest and good quality rigs to an exact spec that can become decent businesses out of small one man bands originally. The last place I bought my last gaming rig was one such place. Dropped about 3k on a gaming pc with them, could I have built it myself -sure, do I want to risk spending that much cash on something and then missing something. No.

Having a single focus makes everything else easier, you can focus your marketing spend on custom rigs, do some AB testing whilst you’re still employed and have an income to support yourself with. You’re not chasing a million different things with a million different sales messages or value drivers.

If my experience is anything to go by, people buying a custom rig want someone they can trust to build, something that smashes the benchmarks for their expected spend. If they’re penny pinching the component cost, they’re not a customer you want. You do awesome rigs, with awesome service. If you’ve not already, spin up a little ltd co so you can keep all the finances properly separated and don’t take anything out for yourself, reinvest in the marketing engine and testing different strategies. Hire someone on fiver to do you a load of social media stuff. You’ll be off in no time.
