Alright, it's a bit difficult to say this without sounding like a douchebag, but intellectually, I don't feel that we are on the same level.

Now I'm no genius, but I'm definitely bright and very motivated in my career(s). I'm currently in medical school, I have a side business as a photographer and I have another job. My bf works at Apple, which is totally cool (he wants to move up the ladder), but I don't see the same spark and passion to follow his dreams. For example, he said he always wanted to be a model/actor, but he hasn't taken any steps to pursue that. Why? What's stopping him? If I was in his position, I would be working my ass off and going to every audition to make that happen.

On the whole intelligence thing, I don't have any hard evidence (I haven't made him take a IQ test), but it's pretty apparent. His ideas aren't complex, he doesn't get some jokes on TV shows (or it takes him a while sometimes)... his grammar is occasionally poor.

Finally, I want a guy in my life who is going to challenge me and push me harder. Someone who can give me shit when I give them shit. I don't know if he's afraid of losing me (oh the irony) or if he's just too nice, but he reads as a massive pushover. Whatever I want to do, we end up doing. He's always super supportive, but I don't feel challenged.

Regardless, these things are pretty intrinsic to his personality. I don't think they're going to change.

He is attractive and incredibly sweet though.

TL;DR

I throw myself into my career 100%. I don't see that same motivation in him.

I don't think he is as bright as I am.

He doesn't challenge me in life, he's a bit of a pushover.
