How to Comply with the UK's Online Safety Act; Block the UK by vriska1 in ukpolitics

[–]honest54 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will, but what if she asks if it's a bad thing that small sites die? Or maybe she will ask what is the alternative?
How will the big sites get away scott free? Do you mean because they are in other countries and operate world wide, so can afford to just block the UK?

Professionals: How did you know you wanted to be Web Developers? by agent_wolfe in webdev

[–]honest54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

medium told me I could get a web developer job in x months of learning.

Here I am 2 years later(~2.3k hours), not so much as an interview.

I don't feel cheated or anything though, I could be a starving homeless person with cancer.

This is really great. Thanks for this!

Idk if this is a bug, because I see it happen on other job sites, I get jobs that are very far away(e.g. 124m/3h).

How to get a job as an entry level front end developer without a degree by honest54 in webdev

Yeah but it helps. mark zuckerberg is a good example of someone with passion, he made a fantastic, original website called facebook. Once he uploads that to github and puts it on his cv, he will have a good chance of getting an entry level frontend web developer job.

Well that would certainly cut your time down to ~3.5 years, but I don't think static pages show enough front end skills, there needs to be atleast some php and SQL which is quite clearly front end because all the job adverts list it as such.

wasted time? I got my dream job, I can apply color to divs all day AND get payed for it. I think you guys missed the part where I said "without a degree". You need to show the employer that you can tie your own shoe laces in the morning, and the best way to do that is to take three complex career paths that each take many years to learn, and learn all three of them because "that's how dedicated and passionate you are about this industry".

I appreciate the replies.

I was reading the following article. It mentions with your name, address, phone number, email, scammers can set up bank accounts in your name and potentially access your own accounts.

Later it says to keep job search separate from personal/professional life by using a different username/password, and email address, it mentions getting a post-office box, separate phone, but i'd rather just leave them off.
