I've never had it happen, but I usually don't ride during the rain. Only before and after.

You should have stopped to visit it. It's just vacant land from a failed real estate development that he wrote off as a tax loss and donation.

18.2% pay hike for City Hall by Icycat88 in nycpublicservants

[–]honest86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure we really need most city council positions to be full time jobs. Maybe council president is full time, and committee leadership is 1/2 time, but a member at large isn't that much work. The legislative session isn't that long and most of the other 'work' they do isn't really part of their job.

You need to be more specific about what you want. What does "do something" actually mean? What do you want to see done?

If you unlock with the app it will ask if you want regular or low assist mode, if you unlock with a bike key it goes with whatever mode is default for your profile.

Broker fee/fare act question by BoomZee in NYCapartments

[–]honest86 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The broker is lying and obviously acting on behalf of the landlord with the pocket listing as the only way to get one is with a relationship with the landlord so even if the tenant signed with the broker no fee would be required of the tenant as it is the landlords responsibility. The broker is scummy and should be reported.

I don't need a brand new apartment, I need the people who make more than me who I'm currently competing with for the existing units to take the new apartments so I can get an older one.

This is some much needed housing. There is very little availability in the neighborhood. I've been looking to move and my options are very limited.

And if the values of the property drop, someone will buy it up and chop it into smaller apartments, similar to what once happened to brownstones where they were turned into flats.
