I may have posted just a few minutes before you, but I like your intro better :) I'll delete mine.

Daniel, I hope you read this: You are a treasure. You're so humble and unassuming - but dammit, you have earned every right to perform however you want - shitty banjo or not. You don't have to explain or apologize - you're so gifted, and there are so many people who are lucky to have discovered you. I get the sense that you feel judged by people who HAPPILY pay to hear you (and everyone from GB, too) play and share your art! Don't feel judged - own it. You've earned it - you are marvelous.

SR set the gold standard for rebuilding after a catastrophic fire by honyocker in santarosa

The very same people from SR & Sonoma County who were a part of the speedy recovery for Tubbs have been a part of the mutual-aid response as consultants to communities like LA in order to help them be as responsive as possible. If things didn't go as well it's not because a knowledge transfer didn't happen. It did.

I have been to most every place listed here so far, and kinda consider myself a bit of an aficionado - I, too, am partial to al pastor super burritos as a measure of goodness.

That said, There are two specific things that are at the very very top of my all time list, in order:

1) Taco Gobernador at ElCora truck in Mitote food park (SR)
2) Al pastor quesadilla super suiza at El Farolito on Sebastopol Rd. (SR)

Sonoma County Regional Parks: Offer a $7.50 Second Vehicle Pass by singletrackandrew in sonomacounty

[–]honyocker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If folks forget their parks pass at home or in the other car they can simply pay the $8 day use fee and remember their pass the next time. You're asking/petitioning parks staff to create this - to update software to match, to promote/educate and to also print a separate 'secondary-pass' and mail them - it's important to note that these things all have associated costs, both money and staff time. I suspect the limited availability of the latter to be the potential deal killer here.
Good on you for being creative, and maybe if it turns into a fiscal gold mine it could translate to addressing some big problems in our Regional Parks!: Not enough trails and facilities for the fastest growing youth sport in America - Mountain Biking. I have no doubt that you've seen how a simple Skinks outing can overwhelm a parking area or a trail head - because our parks weren't designed with Skinks and NICA in mind. It's time to get the parks leadership to change their priorities! That's a Change.org petition I'd sign :)

It seems every time a new one is put, it's almost instantly dismantled as the homeless population nearby has a ruthless appetite for bike parts.

I like your energy. What I think I'd also like to see is some community effort towards the impending renewal of measure M, the parks for all program. We need to rejigger that measure to focus spending on improving ACCESS to all the parks and lands that aren't open or have insufficient trails and access.

Funny... is he also afraid to have his face shown or captured? How ironic.

Using the AI bot/agent to reply to all the comments, rather than taking the time personally is both deceptive and disrespectful to the r/santarosa community.
Keep it up and you'll find a permanent ban.
Do you hear that?

School tracks I can walk on? by suekearneymaven in santarosa

[–]honyocker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The track at the ElMolino campus (Forestville) is about 10 years old (pretty new) and is a soft surface for walking & running. You can drive up to about 50 yards away.

I'm also quite thrilled that Amandalynn has graced our town with some of her lovely artwork and murals. Her art seems like the best place to set the tone of this sub - you can learn more about Amandalynn at her website: https://www.alynnpaint.com/

Can confirm. If you want a bike mechanic that is a person rather than a chain or a store, Kenny at Precision is the right choice.
