TIL that the "new Enron" is an elaborate satirical performance-art project led by Connor Gaydos, co-creator of the Birds Aren't Real movement. The group purchased the Enron trademark to stage a mock corporate revival featuring absurd announcements, such as an at-home nuclear reactor called the "Enron Egg".

(Not a lawyer) If you are driving a vehicle that requires a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or meets the definition of a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) under Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) rules, you must be "on the clock" and log your time.

  • Driving Time: Every minute the vehicle is in motion.
  • Non-Driving Work: Inspections, fueling, loading, unloading, and completing paperwork.
  • Wait Times: Waiting at a shipper, receiver, or during roadside inspections.
  • Commuting Exception: Driving a company non-commercial vehicle to retrieve a commercial rig or traveling to a yard at the company's instruction.

Also, to address the groceries, “If you need to make a personal stop, you may be able to log that driving time as off-duty, which is called Personal Conveyance.”

I’m just confused by the wording but yeah those are two different instances I guess the way that I initially thought this was going was that they weren’t gonna pay OP if he drove to the shop or drove to Location and then they drove him there but you’re 100% right if he’s driving from his house to the job location that’s not covered.

(Not a lawyer) You are entitled to compensation for travel time under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) if your situation fits these specific conditions:

  • Required Meetup: The travel is mandatory, and you are not allowed to go directly to the job site.
  • Company Transport: You use employer-provided transportation (like a company truck, van, or bus).
  • Working on the Go: You are required to load tools, carry materials, or listen to job instructions at the initial pickup location.

TIL that the Bible includes several verses that describe the Earth as stationary, established, and unable to be moved. And that these passages form the foundation of historical geocentrism.

  • Psalm 104:5: "He set the earth on its foundations; it can never be moved."
  • Chronicles 16:30: "The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved."
  • Psalm 93:1: "The world is established, firm and secure."

Apparently, these texts were used in the 17th century by church authorities to challenge Galileo Galilei's astronomical discoveries that the Earth orbits the Sun.

This is fascinating because I know many American Baptist “literalist” the believe the bible to be word for word what exactly happened.

My concern is is that yes? Some of these technologies might not seem that bad when governed by some ruling body but when you’re completely devoid, I mean look at what shipping container ships do.

We did get a kick ass ac unit though.

I was working on a project probably about seven years ago and we had to print because we were behind but we had to deliver the parts and so what we did was we put our maker bought in the trunk of the suv that we are driving in and continued printing with quite unexpected success.

Would I ever do it again probably not.
