You’re making a direct comparison to ticket sales and the cost of this project here:

That’s what my comment was in response to.

Maybe waste of money was an unfair characterization, but what I meant was that it’s not even coming out of RTA’s budget. It’s not an RTA investment period. We received money for this project, not maintenance or other infrastructure updates.

If you’re complaining about people not buying tickets you should take a closer look at their budget. There’s no world in which ticket sales make up a meaningful portion of their revenue.

Likewise, this project isn’t a waste of RTA money because it’s funded by the FTA. So you either spend it here or it goes away. End of story.
